i used to do dance from 2019-early 2023, and when i first watched dance moms around july i wanted to dance again. here i am! i switched studios and genres tho, i used to do ballet jazz and tap now i do acro and lyrical

and THAT'S why is so unfair to compare Maddie with Sophia Lucia. At this age, Sophia already went to competitions and had a much more intense level of training. But, let's think : this was in 2008 and Dance Moms started in 2011. As we all can see in, like, Cry for example, she improved a LOT for 3 years

Stop hating on a fetus and comparing it to "better" fetuses, lol. This is exactly why I love Maddie. Everything she is and can do is a product of hard work and love for her art. She wasn't born on pointe, nor has she had any formal ballet training. She earned all of her magic herself. ❤️

She's not a prodigy like, say, Sophia Lucia. The reason she got so good is because she's a perfectionist, and she wanted it badly enough to dedicate practically every waking moment to dance.

It's amazing how much she's grown. People keep comparing this dance to the minis now, but what they fail to realize is Maddie and the other girls have set the bar high, making everyone work harder to do more at a much younger age now

and people say Maddie didn't work hard to be abby's favorite. this was only 3 years before dance moms. she worked her butt off to get were she was in season 1

The comment section is really bothering me. The dancers you are comparing Maddie to (Sophia, Mackenzie, and Asia) all started dance a few years earlier than Maddie. Thus at 5, Mackenzie had been dancing for 3 years. While, when Maddie was 5, she had only been dancing for 1 year. Thus, this was her with 1 year of training.

The fact that she started dance moms at the age of 8 it’s amazing how much she has improved over 3 years! And it’s also funny because the song wasn’t lying.

This is my absolute favorite solo from her, it was so amazing and quite different then her usual solos! Amazing, breathtaking!! Love this solo

It’s when she briefly hesitates whilst thinking of the next move but her face is still completely calm and not at all panicked that she forgot ❤️

Abby tries to compare Mackenzie with Maddie but Mackenzie in this age was so much better

The only reason Mackenzie is better at age 5 than Maddie was because Mackenzie had maddie to push her and become a better dancer witch Mackenzie should be greatful for Maddie just as Maddie should be grestful for Mackenzie we should stop comparing them and just think without each other they would be the dancer they were and are

True but remember that Maddie started dancing when she was 4, so she had only been dancing for a year when she did this dance, while Mackenzie started dancing when she was 2, so at this age Mackenzie would have been dancing for 3 years already.

When I look at this little girl, I recognize myself. I dance for about 10 years now, and I really want to be like her. Her dream is to be dancin for ever. Thank you Maddie for all this amazing dreams and hope! Xx

Not every kid can say that they’ve been in a popular music video. Instead of comparing her to others, just look at where she’s gotten.

This probably sounds stupid and really pathetic but at my dance studio my teacher put me in a class with 1st and 2nd graders,(I'm 11 btw), and this is my dance level right now because she doesn't let me grow as a dancer... so this is literally my level at dancing rn, I'm 11 and Maddie is only 5 in this..... EDIT~ I mean I can do some dances that the girls my age do at the ALDC but that's only because I literally teach them to MYSELF! So basically I let myself grow as a dancer on my own, BUT at my studio I am still at a lower level and I really deserve to move up😞😞😞😞

rianna wendol I've been there before. I wasn't quite as old in comparison to my team, but I felt the same way. Leaving the studio could make things better, or worse. The good thing is, you can grow right where you are. You can grow by trying to use every muscle, and stretching every step further. By using control and emotion, this dance could easily be more advanced. It's hard, but make it your goal to make every step the very best it can be. You will be a great dancer if you can learn to make the most of any class! :)

If your skill level is commensurate with the 1st and 2nd graders, that's where you belong. Age and height don't dictate that, your abilities do. Stop blaming your teacher and work harder.
