I watched it twice, and had a blast both time. The movie isn't just bad, it's unhinged. Writing, acting, sound design, editing, cinematography, every single aspect of it is a terrible, delicious failure. 1/10, I highly recommend

The one part of this movie that I think you forgot to cover in this pitch meeting was the fact that nobody at the airport reported her stolen taxi with the license plates ripped off for the entire week she was gone. She is just allowed to grab it like it’s nothing.

An exposition dump however is when a writer tells the reader something directly, often already known or obvious information. It's often seen as bad or cheap writing. The joke is that he misinterprets the meaning and and context and thinks she is about to go to peru to take a shit on a canvas for a big art show.

I hated the similar plot hole in Ark knight rises where Batman miraculously heals his broken spine in days and seemingly instantly teleports to Gotham where he takes time to set up a burning bat signal before acting. The rest of the movie I liked, but that bit killed the immersion for me.

The "three-shadowing not up to the level of foreshadowing" joke is absolute gold! 🤣And then later calling it "two-shadowing" made me crack up!

@@raycas6881 Foreshadowing is when the writer gives a sign or a hint of something that will happen later in the story. And it sounds like FOUR-shadowing. The writers' foreshadowing in the movie wasn't that good, so he called it THREE-shadowing. It's a pun.

With everyone dunking on this movie, I feel like you could have phoned this one in and still got decent views. But between stuff like Miss Leading, the Amazon prime shipping joke, and the constant demotion of Four Shadowing, this has to be one of the best written Pitch Meetings. Great job, Ryan!

Im a bit surprised you didn't touch on Sydney Sweeney in this at all. I was watching another person review this movie, who was showing clips. and, "a coming of age story for the teenage girls". which made me immediately stop and go, "wait, what?" Sweeney is 27. obviously so adult women. I was just at a loss, they were trying to pass her off as a teenager. who in the world thought her playing an 15?yr old girl was a good idea?

I recently heard that the big studios have been known to take the script and then the execs and producers modify/re-write it and never give it back to the writer. So, I'm going to avoid blaming the writers as much anymore for messes like this

I will never understand why Sony in particular, loves to remix the "with great power comes great responsibility' line, even in the Amazing Spider-Man movies, it made no sense why they didn't just say it, instead of that unnecessary word salad we got. Like just say the line, Its a famous line heavily associated with Spider-Man, we all know this, just say the damn line,

"That's that threeshadowing." "Don't you mean foreshadowing?" "It's not quite up to that level." LOL!! Now I feel like I've seen all I need to see of this movie. Thank you!!

When I was about 8 years old, I wrote a story that ended with them luring the Big Bad into a fireworks factory and blowing it up... I think that speaks volumes about the mental capacity of the writers of Madame Web...

The problem is, that for a pitch meeting, the writer must have a script to talk about. But in the current state of hollywood, scripts are written during the shooting. So the real pitch meeting was something like: "We need another spiderman movie to not lose the rights. Ok, I search what character was somewhat popular. I got this Web-Girl, let's make something with her. Ok, here have money."

Fantastic work Ryan. Pitch Meetings are always amazing but this one goes extra hard. Loved the hiccup outake as well.

I believe some movies were made just for writer guy and producer guy to do these pitch meetings. Madame Web is the definition of a pitch meeting movie. Been waiting on this for a hot minute.
