If I was ever able to go to Versailles, this is the one part of the palace I would want to see more than any other. I adore Madame Du Barry; she was a kind hearted lady and should be remembered more kindly.

they don’t let you tour the private apartments. You are taken through the main halls and public receiving rooms devoid of all furnitures. You don’t see the private apartments. Even petit Trianon is closed off sometimes. The gardens are also huge and it’s exhausting hiking through them so you really have to plan well.

It is a rather simple appartment compared to the rest of Versailles

Well, that sucked. Couldn't hear him but def could hear the clank clank clank of heels on the floor. And no shot of the views from the windows either. 🙄

Yes, carpet would have helped, the bang bang clomp clomp wasn't very subtle and made it impossible to follow the conversation.

I suffered vertigo from the spinning camera.

This is wonderful to see..Maybe it’s better the Lady had removed her shoes which are louder than the gentleman’s voice. I’m sure I would dress my best to visit Versailles as well, but still bring along some quiet ballerina shoes that won’t scuff floors or dominate any audio.. I just know back when Madame du Barry lived there it probably looked so even more amazing with her added touches. If I had a time machine honestly this place would be the first place I’d visit, from wen Louie XIV n Phillipe first moved in up until the last day Marie Antoinette stayed 🌺

Du Barry's apartment was bigger than Marie Antionette's apartment.

Remember Marie Antoinette was a queen not a mistress, maria Antoinette had the whole palace I one time, if only the walls could talk, they would say something else, beautiful but it was smelling they didn't have septic system it smells like shit everywhere, the king Louis took only 2 bathes twice a yr . It was crazy Times. RIP all them
