This movie is a miracle. It’s a miracle that it was made, after 20 years of pre production. It’s miraculous for its design, its film making, its imagination, and its energy. I love the loony toons aspect of the violence. I love that they don’t spend a second on exposition dumps or dumbing it down or explaining everything. I love that the lasting currency of the world is water, gas, and bullets. It’s uncompromising. It made money. It got critical acclaim. It’s the best action movie made in the last 20 years.
Oh, what a lovely day!
Andy mentioning doing a Hobbit Review in jest made me really want that. Might be the only way I get around to Battle of the Five Armies

Haven't seen Battle of the five armies since the theater 🤣 Remember physics defying Legolas? I do 😱
Excellent point by Barrett on Tom Hardy's monologue voice and then his actual dialogue voice with characters. Max in this movie feels like he hasnt had human interaction in YEARS. He truly feels MAD. I think Tom Hardy's performance goes completely underrated in this movie. Who gives a fucking shit about his voice. I think it was a great choice. Terrific physical performance
The idea that he's the feral kid from Road Warrior taking Max's name makes way more sense than anything else.
Max has lost his mind - at the very beginning he has been alone and isolated , long hair and eating lizards and shit. He isn’t exactly an eloquent speaker with great social skills. He becomes like an almost rabid animal.

ive seen theories that this max is the feral child from the second movie

@@danieljazzo7417 I mentioned this theory on the cinemawins channel, somebody did a really long ass tear down of how it's not possible. I didn't even say I believed it lol.
I feel like there just isn't a timeline with Mad Max. It's like Zelda. It's all happened. None of it's happened. Its happening now, that's what's important
One of my favorite pieces of cinema in existence. Nearly every shot is absolutely jaw-dropping. A testament to film as an art form.
The redhead wife "Capable" is Elvis' grandkid. Just an interesting bit of info I thought Nick would be intrigued by.
Absolutely nailed the plot intro song Andy I loved it hahaha
I swear every time Nick does the bane voice he goes up an octave.
Not sure if anyone here has already pointed this out.But the girl Max sees in his "visions" is not his child(his kid was a boy no older than 2 or 3). She is a character from the Mad Max 2015 videogame that is considered a canonical prequel to this movie. The final fight of the game happens pretty quickly after the flashback Max keeps having in the movie, and the final fight is "kinda" why the warboys are hunting down Max at the beginning of the movie. That being said, The interceptor gets destroyed both at the beginning and at the end of the game and then at the beginning of the movie he has it again so it's hard to actually place it in a timeline perfectly. From my understanding there were supposed to be a lot more ties to both game and movie and eventually George Miller kinda backed out of the creative process of the game, but the connections are still there. For example, one of the main hubs is actually Gas Town. Anyway, hope someone from Kinda Funny reads this and tells the rest of the crew. Thanks for the content, love you all ❤ And fuck Greg for not liking movies, hearing him not talk about names like Toe Cutter, Master blaster and Rictus Erectus is a crime. K byyyyyyyye

I second the Greg thing lol
1:17:39 "Did you see it" is in reference to Angharad's death. Furiosa asks if Max saw her die, to which he replies "She went under the wheels".
Nick's liver and kidney are screaming at him... "Calcium, again!!!!!???"

This movie is a master class in world building.
That Rush-themed pre-Review tune! Classic film, and cannot wait for Furiosa❤️🔥❤️
Fury road was the movie that made me fall back in love with pure action movies. Usually I need backstory and in depth character lore but in fury road I was committed right from the get go and was gripped all the way through. What an outstanding action movie. An all timer
So grateful you guys decided to start with the OG’s. I needed that. Tried fury road so many times before this and my young naive brain couldn’t process. I now process and love
Some of the best visual storytelling of the past 25 years
I'm not gonna lie, I replayed 55:58 with Nick like 5 times. Had me DYINGGG 😂
I still want a stream for the Mad Max game from you guys. Imagine a Friday big stream of the game. Nick dressed as Max, Andy dressed like the Doof playing guitar, and Mike heavy breathing as Immortan Joe! Also I heard the game used one of George Miller's scripts because it was taking too long for him to write one for the game. It pissed off George Miller. It would be cool to see what could have been. It also explains the little girl Max sees in Fury Road I think.
One of my top 10 favorite films of all-time. Imo it's the epitome of "show don't tell" worldbuilding. Loved this episode of In Review!
This movie is a masterpiece
Fury Road is masterpiece in terms of pacing and sequencing. This movie is a white knuckle ride all the way through. Charlize is incredible
CORRECTION: I could be mistaken but the little girl isn't his daughter, but a girl he failed to save from a comic called Glory.
@Y2Jervis

Correct, the visions he has in this film is about people he could have saved.
next level jingle Andy! incredible
Andy with the dope intro song!!!
I believe the director came out and said that this isn't Mel Gibson's Max. It's that mute kid who decided to call himself Max
The significance of the high octane O- bloodbag is that people produce adrenaline, and because he's type O- he can be hooked up to anyone, making him very valuable to the warboys because they can strap him onto the car and put him in a dangerous position causing him to produce more adrenaline. So when the driver is hooked up to him, they are getting an extra dose of adrenaline, allowing them to perform better as drivers in the chaos. In the case of a bloodbag, high octane just means that he produces a lot of adrenaline.
Guys when are you doing the Alien & Predator franchises? 🙏
This movie is so good. Just an adrenaline ride from start to finish.
According to interviews, this was supposed to be a reboot/reintroduction of the Mad Max character. I bet G Millers experience working with Tom didn’t persuade him from continuing to focus on the character with him behind it - so he focused on Furiosa.
I’m just at the beginning of them discussing the plot but I really hope they mention that the actor who played Immortan Joe is the same guy who played Toecutter in the first movie!
The Road Warrior and Fury Road are two of the greatest films ever!
Paying to park at a movie theater is insane
MAD MAX FURY ROAD 💀🛠 A Masterpiece 🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Max’s arc from Feral Wastelander to empathetic man always made sense to me but after living through a pandemic, even with modern technology that helped ease most forms of isolation for people, people still suffered psychologically especially socially. So Max’s feral and psychotic portrayal is justified given the context he’s been alone, hunted, and depressed for years at this point
I think this is the only movie that gets better for me every time I watch it. Miraculous is the only word for it. I watched the 'black and chrome' version this time, and I highly recommend it if you love this movie... Black and white really makes different things pop compared to color. Definitely not "better" than the regular version, but very cool in some different ways.
This might be the best movie Kinda Funny has ever done an “In Review” on

@@BarkerVancityLet's see... I enjoyed quite a few things about it. 1. The political intrigue of Robert's investigation under McCarthyism 2. The likely assassination of his mistress by the FBI 3. The moral question of creating a WMD so a greater evil can't get it first 4. The juxtaposition of the joy and fulfillment of creating a thing out of passion against the bleak regret of its misuse 5. The absolute clinic of acting talent on display from Murphy to Downey to Pugh to Erenreich to Malek to Gary f*cking Oldman Plenty to get out of that film besides one explosion my guy
Hey! Why isn't Nick using a drink coaster?
That was a cool song!
The funniest thing from this movie was the amazon reviews for silver spray paint people were leaving. "One of my warboys used this product three times and was not awaited in Valhalla. Buyers beware."
I would love to see them review Turbo Kid. Perfect pairing with mad max saga.
This movie is the most metal fuckin movie ever made. I love
They call out what they are hauling as they lower the war rig. Mother's milk, aqua cola, and fuel i believe.
I believe this continues from the Mad Max game. The child he sees is from the story in the game if I recall.
Omg Andy is my favorite
Holy shit 🎉 that was on point
Damn this is already out? *edit lol thought this was the new one
Incredible film. I agree with Barret I like Tom Hardy in this
This movie wins the name ranking purely for The Doof Warrior
I really dont understand the criticism that MAD MAX should be "grounded in realism." Like, I get it for a western or a crime drama or something where realism... y'know... MATTERS. But applying it to Fury Road would just make me think you hate fun...
What’s Andy’s song based on?

Beyond Weinerdome
So max isn't max in this movie, this is the boy grown up. He says he's max at the end because max is a legend (that others would narrate about in prior movies). This is that boy spreading that legend. The real Max is still Mel Gibson.
I just watched Black and Chrome edition the other day and it’s phenomenal. It’s George Millers black & white cut of the film. I agree Tom Hardy is the worst actor in the movie he sounds like an Orc that wandered off set from Lord of the Rings, however it doesn’t kill the movie because he barely talk anyway.
Not to be a snitch but y'all forgot to put the ads in this one
