Mack R600 Truck and New Holland tractor working
In this episode we have fallen some trees that were leaning towards the house. We use the New Holland tractor to tow away the trunks and the Mack to move the heads. #diesel #tractor #oldtruck #semitruck #mack

Hi mate thanks for watching from over there and many happy returns. Yes mate it’s done a lot of work. I wish it could talk, I’m sure it would have plenty of stories. I had got 44s mate yes. There’s plenty more videos to come mate so hopefully you can stay around. Thanks again

When you said better than doing 100 trips made me think. When playing with old equipment we don’t always do what’s easiest or makes the most sense, we do what’s the most fun!

That’s right mate. If it was modern equipment I wouldn’t have enjoyed it. I probably wouldn’t have even done it. It was fun mate indeed

Hey Steve, jim Rioux from Connecticut again. I was amazed at the simplicity of the air starter on the Mack. I watched you take it apart a while ago it was real educational. Always watching your new videos. Be good, jim Rioux

Hi Neil, are you sure you watched the same video?😂😂. Almost is right mate, they sit in the bush that long and I try to use them and there’s always something 🙄. Still good fun though
Good fun
Cheers for filming your antics again mate🍻 I beat you to saying fuck when the Mack's filter went for a shit.😄 Would it be worth giving the roof a coat of rubber roof paint to stop the leaking temporarily?. I'm subbed to ORDU and Diesels Down Under. Them and your channel are my favourite Aussie truck channels so far👍🏻
@stevesplacedownunder
Жыл бұрын
Great stuff mate. Yeah I wasn’t happy, the day was getting on and I wanted to keep going. The roof does need something like that yes. It was pushed in so over the years it’s held dirt and water and eventually rusted out. Thanks for subscribing him. He’s a great bloke and got some interesting stuff coming up. I watch the Diesel Down Under bloke also. Good channels. I’m not sure how many Aussie blokes are actually doing a variety of old truck, tractor fix it channels. It’s mainly American blokes that I watch
Love old Macks 🙂 The Maxidyne inline-6 always sounds smooth but brawny. The main 5-speed ‘box (I think) has synchromesh but the 5-tonne Maxidyne flywheel and very slow shedding of rpm when the power pedal is lifted makes it redundant to all but the nascently patient; double-declutch unless you have an extra day to get there or you have Jacobs brakes that are working 😆 Great to see another survivor earning its keep 😎

Great stuff mate. They aren’t bad to change if you take the time between gears. This one is no exception apart from the fact all the brakes are dragging, I will eventually fix it.
Hi Steve, another sweet video mate. Nothing like a good turbo whistle to wake you up in a morning 😆Looking forward to the next one, take care buddy. Norm.

@stevesplacedownunder

Yes mate it’s done a lot of work here now that one. I should fix it but I just seem to use it and park it again. If you mean the blue one out the front it’s a White Super Power. Has a Perkins in it. Never had it running. I actually forgot about that one. I should do a start on it
It's always awesome seeing old iron going back to work. Just curious, does it ever snow anywhere in Australia?
@stevesplacedownunder

It certainly is mate. Yes we get snow mate in certain regions. We have skiing resorts over here. It actually snowed last week in one of the ares where the resorts are, which is strange because it’s summer here at the moment

Why do you never clean the windscreens when you drive around your paddock

Because it takes half the day to get it going to use for an hour and is nowhere near a water supply. I’m glad this is what you got from this video

No mate I believe there aren’t many around. I don’t really work it hard because parts are so hard to get also. I use it with a stick rake to tidy up around the trees and the roads. It’s very easy to use.
Love that old r600, Steve. I wish you’d get a hood on her! Haha I know it’s far from priority, but since she runs (no surprise there) I think she deserves a hood her. Take care and thanks for the video, mate.
