I wouldn't say better it set him off as a more mainstream artist but quality wise his hip hop days reigned all the same. I'm a fan of MGK,been listening to his music from his first album to his newer stuff, I don't like all of his new music but for the most part it's all good In there own right. I wasn't a big fan of 2000s emo pop music and that's why I don't like some of his new music but I see how hard he has worked on that music and put all he had in it and I wish him the best in all his ventures and such. And LACE UP is his album he made years ago also his saying, it's like a movement, like LACE UP and get going, do what you have to do.. also ESTXX is part of that movement too. Its all part of his fan base following. And there's the BLACK FLAG that has his ESTXX on it, it's a flag with the design of a black bandana and has ESTXX on it. It's in the video for Raise the flag, imo it's like a rally cry song to call all of his fans to come together and fight back against the ones who hold you back and say you can't do this or that..its kinda inspiring if you ask me. Like MGK they went from hard core metal screamo to a more melodic type/synth alternative style, while still having hard songs thrown in there. Just as they get older they realize that there is more than just yelling and screaming into the mic and with MGK more than just rapping fast and talking about doing drugs and gang stuff, both have grown and took different paths and been called sellouts and whatever. Both have been through a lot of stuff to get to where they are now.

Love this presentation. Never been into pop punk and I see that there is lots of hate for this song unfortunately... I was a teenager in the 90's when rock was mainstream, I love the fact that there is some rock coming back. I know things might not be as hardcore as they were before and maybe because is not meant to be like that anymore, so for whoever is trying to bring some kind of rock back to the mainstream I salute you!!!
