    I like that you had it at a faster speed for this complicated design, made it go quicker. I like how the increased speed made it look like you were throwing the bits of extra balloon away aggressively " get out of here I'm done with you! "

    also, it appears you were listening to music as you had to brush away your headphones multiple times as they dangled about. were you listening to this song?

    Hi. Haha, yes I definitely try to give high energy when I'm twisting for a vid. This was one of my first vids without vocal instructions and I had a great time using (then) newly learned editing techniques to put this together.

    I'm definitely like listening to music when I twist on videos. Content creators are limited as to what music they can use if they want to avoid demonetization, so I'm usually listening to something copywritten and later find a song with the same beat. I twist the design in rythym with the track putting certain emphasis on certain beats. With the non-copywritten track laid over the original muted and edited footage, this visual and audio juxtaposition usually can produce the intended syncing effect. Thanks for your questions.

    This is a really good Macaw/Parrot, Sage! I never like making parrots, but this one might just change my mind. Bravo! I might play around with the beak design, so there isn't so much coloring needed, but off the top of my head I can't think of a better way… which is one of the reasons I have never liked making parrots. Anyhow, excellent design. Well done!

    Thank you Mr. Boma! Oy vey - the beak. I tried so many ways to create a sharp beak illusion without using tons of marker, but nothing worked. I was hoping eventually to make a second Macaw which would address all the faults of this one. I would be so interested to hear if you come up with improvements. Thanks for checking out my new vid!

    Balloon Sage I've seen people use the end of a 321 for the beak, and it sort of works. I'll need to play with it. But I'm back teaching full time again, so probably won't have a chance for awhile.

    Ask Me For A Balloon I totally understand the fear. Heck - I refused to do any popular character themed ideas out of fear of losing my channel even when you were putting out your (now) classic "Frozen" mini columns. However, I've experience the idiocy of putting up copywritten music early on, and two things can happen: You are notified immediately and your audio is muted, or they let the audio play and you just can't monetize the video. Either way, technically harmless to your channel, but No Copyright sounds is used by everyone - even those with millions of subs, and they seem to be ok. I totally understand treasuring your channel and not wanting to risk f**king it up, but I had to risk adding music or it would continue to take forever for me to get each video out. Talking in my videos was my biggest mistake of all. So lovely to hear from you.

  • @BalloonSage

    @BalloonSage

    Hi again! This is my new style where there are no vocal instructions. I used to make very slow and detailed videos on balloon twisting up to 20 minutes long - but barely anyone watched them. The new style is watched by so many more people - for some reason. This Macaw is a more complex design and it would have actually made it less clear had I been fumbling for ways to explain the intricate process involved for this particular model vocally. There is in fact an option to slow down the speed to as slow as one quarter of real time - there should be an icon in the bottom right corner of the KZread window. I remember when I was learning to twist and I used to get very frustrated with KZread tutorials that were not detailed enough regarding instruction so I definitely understand where you are coming from. I often just sat there as long as it took and willed myself to figure out the harder parts if I liked a design enough. If you have any questions about this design or anything else, I am happy to respond and assist as best I can to make anything clearer, and I will say that I have a ton of older videos with nothing but painstakingly articulated step by step vocal instructions featuring linework models that I'm sure you will enjoy. Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts.

    Hey, sorry about that. Some of my older balloon twisting vids like this one required a brisk pace or else the video would be too long and nobody would have watched it. I considered this tutorial to be a more advanced lesson so perhaps I judged incorrectly that my demonstration would be sufficient. I learned how to twist by watching KZread videos, so I totally understand what you are saying and I remember thinking the same things about other people’s videos. Thank you for your input and maybe you can give some of my other videos a chance.
