That’s pretty quick

All you had to say was Microsoft is comparing a laptop to a tablet. The Surface pro 7 is the windows equivalent to the new IPad Pro. They both have pens and keyboards with track pads, but neither is a full laptop. You can’t just say that you’re tablet is better than something that wasn’t even designed to compete with it.

Exactly! If Microsoft wasn’t so intent on trying to point out the flaws of a MacBook using stupid comparisons, they would’ve had a better chance at making the Surface shine through as a versatile tablet. Instead all this ad really showed were the obvious differences between two different form factors while misrepresenting facts, which made the Surface look stupid in comparison.

Ipad pro is still not a real laptop. Surface tablet is. iPad has great features, but surface is still more versatile.

@@Olterior I guess you’re right, but in my experience it’s more of a tablet that runs windows 10 but struggles with desktop and a lot of applications aren’t supported. Now, before I continue my rebuttal I’m not a huge apple fanboy or a huge Microsoft fanboy. I have an IPad and IPhone because I like IOS better than Android OS, but I have a windows 10 pc because MacOS is such a weird OS. Anyway, I bought a surface pro to potentially replace my old 4th gen IPad, but I ended up giving it to my little sister and getting an IPad Pro because a lot of the time it doesn’t run applications that weren’t specifically optimized for it, including most of the apps I need it for. Also, there aren’t nearly as many apps as on IOS. I’m not saying that iPads do run apps that aren’t specifically optimized for it, but at least apple doesn’t pretend that it can. I’d rather just use an actual Microsoft laptop or an iPad Pro. Also, the iPad Pro is a better bang for your buck. A fully specked surface pro 7 comes with a quad core cpu, 16gb of ram 1tb of storage, a webcam, a 12.3 inch 2736x1824 display, WiFi , and weighs in at $2,299.99 msrp. A fully specked out iPad Pro comes with 8 cores, 6gb of ram, 1tb of storage, a webcam, 3 4K cameras with the whole optical zoom thing, a 12.9 inch 2732x2048 display, WiFi and cellular, and weighs in at $1,649.00. That’s obviously not including the accessories which both come separately. I’d also argue that the Ipad keyboard is much more sturdy that the surface Pro’s, but I’ll admit that the Surface Pro’s pen is better than the Apple Pencil. I think if you’re hell bent on not using apple, you could probably find an equivalent Android or Linux tablet or even another 3rd party Microsoft powered tablet/laptop hybrid that would cost less than the surface pro while being more competitive with the IPad Pro.

As someone who used a surface pro in the past and is now using an iPad, I can definitely get behind this. Since I wanted a tablet first experience, the iPad just does a better job at being a tablet than the surface in my opinion, which just feels clunky by comparison.

@@Olterior he wasn't saying the ipad pro was a real laptop. his point was niether is. both the keyboard and pen is opotianal on both, running win 10 dosen't automatically make it a desktop/laptop

It's a very stupid ad in fact. I'm against the high price of Apple devices but I love the OS. The dislike ratio says it all.

I don’t know why they didn’t just compare it to an iPad Pro because you can also buy a pen and a keyboard for it separately.

Even then, the ipad pro might still win. Aside from price if course, it has a 120hz screen, which its able to run, works excellently with the apple pen, has a good screen, and is actually quite powerful. For a tablet that is. It is among the top choices with a lot of mobile gamers.

Compare to the MacBook Air and the surface you have to buy the keyboard separately lol

When the ad came out I was kinda interested at the bundled price but couldn’t find it it was only available for education or military purchasers. As you noted the MacBook Air is the more relevant comparison. Or the iPad Pro or Air with keyboard, which will be more powerful than the Surface and as noted in the video be far superior when used as a tablet.

Yeah Microsoft definitely positioned the Surface weirdly compared to far more pertinent comparisons that could’ve been made

ONE WORD: IPAD

Maybe they took that type of stuff in consideration because right now you can get a surface pro 7 with everything included for 800 bucks

not to mention they LIED about running games, the surface pro has a NOTORIOUS repetition for gaming, absolutely horrendous. Macs, if on the right graphics and frames settings, aren't as bad as running games. I agree with you 110% on this video.

@@thenotsookayguy macs an pcs are classified differently from what i know in the tech world. if you watch tech videos, you never hear them say mac pc. they say mac computer and windows pc. because macs are different than pcs, they aren’t in the same group
