Mac Miller | Feedback: Episode 4 | Fender

Музыка

Immersing himself in guitar playing as a mode of self-discovery, Pittsburgh-bred rapper/producer Mac Miller uses music as a means of communicating without the need for words. The platinum-selling artist found out early in his career that the more he progressed in his playing proficiency, the more he learned about himself as an artist. Aware of the spontaneity of inspiration, Miller believes in trusting your instinct when it comes to creating.

Yes. No shade to ariana but I'm always so curious about that dynamic because she's just a popstar who has a whole team creating every aspect of her career. But maybe they were creative in their private time, I know they made a lot of music together. It would just be weird to be so passionate about your music and music in general, and then dating someone who doesn't have that same authentic passion.

Man. I'm 42. Been playing since i was 14. This person just inspired me to a whole other degree. Having multiple disabilities, I'm far from the player I imagined I would be. Mac Miller just clarified something mystical about being a musician. I'm late in discovering this angel who's light no longer shines. God keep him, and may he be at peace. And one more thing, Fender just earned more respect with this highlight by acknowledging that, musicians can approach the guitar, and bass, however they feel like it. No matter the skill. Play for the sake of playing.

I didn't even know this dude played guitar. Never really listened to his music, I know he's a pretty big name in the rap scene and has been known to play some cool indie covers (Bright Eyes). My question is, why are people mad that Fender featured something about him? All I see here is a dude's love for music and guitar, not to mention that he has a really cool tone. I also didn't know he played bass and keys, looks like a pretty talented guy. He looks like someone who is passionate about making music and enjoys the process. That in itself is inspiring, so why not feature him in a Fender video? Hell, if I didn't play guitar and I was a young kid watching this video, I know for sure I would be inspired to pick up a guitar and create something.

I'm a guitarist and I don't normally listen to rap. But I do like Mac Miller, to bad we lost him so early. I remember a time before hi could play when I found out Mac played. I sat in my room in the dark with hrapdhimes in wishing I could play what he was. This video isn't about rap or rock or any debate. Its the passion for music. And I think that should bring us all together now. I forgot that Mac played actually, and seeing this is all that reminded me. I'm glad I found this, this is much more inspiring to me than seeing Eddie vanhalen play eruption. Sure vanhalen was obviously a much better guitarist than Mac. But this is inspiring because its just him being humble and making music as a one man show. I love it

Wow people 2 years ago were crazy! More impressive/inspiring than eruption? A 2 minute video of Mac talking mostly with a faint guitar riff/arpeggio on repeat in the background? That’s more inspiring than ERUPTION when it comes to guitar?! Or you mean rap because in that case it’s just a weird comparison, no one would want to hear Eddie rap. And it certainly wouldn’t have inspired anyone. People that listen to rap say the craziest things, in another video someone claimed Mac was the most diverse/creative artist in the history of music. No disrespect but that’s not even close to accurate and is insulting to those that came before him. If you like rap great but if you compare Mac and Van Halen you’re tripping.

@@adamk6299 no you completely misunderstood, to be clear Mac Miller is no where near the talent level of Eddie. What I was saying was it's more inspiring to ME (my opinion) to see Mac Miller putting all of this music together himself than it is for me to see Eddie shred eruption. Personally for me learning guitar was never a grandeur power trip where all I wanted to do was learn amazing scales so I could make awesome solos. It was simply the act being able to be creative and make music. That's why I found it creative and that's my two cents.

I miss Mac so much. He is one of the main reasons I even got into guitar, and I never thought I would take it so seriously.. It has become my life the past 7-8 years.. All my money goes to it as well as time lol. I come back to this video a lot, especially for his words on speaking through the instrument so many great guitarists mention. I truly feel that now. I've always been deep into music and hip hop since a child and being raised on it, but I was also always too scared to show my voice, or "sing" etc as I have a rather weak voice.. The guitar and piano completely changed that for me. The expression you can get through a guitar is insane, it really depends on the day, and it will be a journey in your mind and hands that can take you anywhere and express how you're feeling whether it is just simple jazz chords verbed out, to dark dark blues, or angsty punk chords. Everyday it can be something new and be a let-out of emotions and energy!

Im part of the new era that doesn't understand the depth and meaning behind music, but now because of artist like this Im learning to appreciate it more. admitting that is hard, but i want to change myself and become a strong influence in the music. Im going start my journey down path of hard work to understand and build knowledge by learning how to play and LOVE the guitar for what it is no matter if its rock, country, hiphop, etc.

This is awesome! I love to see that a variety of musicians are being associated with such a classic brand usually only thought of as a "rock" instrument. His new album is quite amazing, if y'all haven't checked it out yet. Hey Fender, is there more content from his and the other Feedback musicians' interviews?

That's right that exactly right, I speak through music, I speak through my guitar just as much as my lyrics maybe even more so through guitar. People who don't hear instrumental it's just like rap it's just another piece to communicate through music.
