Mac McClung is Legend!! State Championship + ANOTHER Scoring Record?!?

Спорт

Mac McClung led Gate City (VA) to it's first ever state championship on Friday night. The championship ends Mac McClung's incredible high school career but not before earning some more records. On Friday, Mac broke the VA all-time scoring record by surpassing the likes of Allen Iverson. What's next for Mac McClung? The BALLISLIFE All-American game perhaps..?

ya but he's to short and slow for the way he plays against good players unfortunately..some people commented he has a few D1 offers from small schools, i am surprised that..he is only in grade 11 though so he prob will end up about about 6'6 but he's pretty slow and not althetic, fundamentally sound though

I’ve watched all the greats in their high school years. Forget the fact that Mac broke Allen Iverson’s Virginia State Scoring record or Kobe Bryant’s National record. His skill set for a 17/18 year old boy is the best I’ve ever seen! He literally destroyed an extremely good Old Dominion commit who is 4 inches taller than him and against the second best team in the state broke the finals scoring record! Imagine if he grew 2 more inches?

I grew up near where this kid plays. Its really awesome to see such an amazing talent with mad skills become such a phenom. I just can't believe no SEC schools tried to recruit him. He is basically in TN's backyard and just a short drive from VT and UVA, not to mention 3.5 hours from Lexington KY which is where I now reside. KY could use a player like him, someone that will stick around for at least 2-3 years and plays like one of KY's greats Jeff Sheppard. I wish Mac the best at GTown, will be watching him closely. Congrats to Gate City for winning the State Championship.

good points however for instance, Tobias Harris. He's my literal next door neighbor in NY, I'm a bit older than him but one of my best friends became assistant coach for our HS bball team when Tobias was in HS playing... this was 10+ years ago however he was slow, not strong, chubby, had some hype yet me who played basketball thought he was so overrated... He has emerged into an amazing player, crazy skill and work ethic, hit a growth spurt and had the right training in TN.... Mac is only 17 years old, I think he can and will develop into something special.. Sometimes we forget how young these kids are , and even for ourselves, thinking back some tie ago seeing our growth, progress etc in our own ways.. It can happen, I'm a believer, Mac will hopefully make it!

Darius Harris well good. That doesn’t add or subtract credibility or truth from the statement. He was being objective. And it is possible that Chris is better than number 10, it is also possible that number 10 is better than Chris. Because you don’t know Chris you don’t know how good he is. Also number 10 really isn’t that good. The reason I say so is because he got frustrated when his shots weren’t going in, so he took more and more shots which kept missing making him angrier and angrier. This is what caused him to commit the cheap shots and fouls. He was mentally prepared to play.

There's more than one championship in the Vhsl, schools are categorized based on enrollment into classes 1-6. Gate City is a class 2 so they wouldn't even be in a league with games against the biggest schools, with more students and better basketball players. With VA sports each class will have individual playoffs through conference, regionals, and to state with 6 different championships, one for each school classification.

He has all the skills. I can't believe he wasn't even in the McDonald's game and is ranked so low. In the Ball is Life All American game he stood out. He will be a great college player and will be an NBA player too. His game is pretty complete and he has the athleticism to compete with bigger guys.
