The basic technique for braids involves dividing a section of your hair into three parts and crossing those around each other. Maasai twist braids are popular, the thought of sitting for a maximum of three hours is worth of beautiful micro braids.
The Maasai are an ethnic group inhabiting in Northern Tanzania and Kenya. They are well known internationally because of their unique culture, dress, and residence around major wildlife reserves in East Africa

I love this. The technique was amazing, but the care they had, to redirect every braid was awesome. They're really good. I would pay lots of money to get that done

The men of their tribe do this, the warriors wear braids. And braid each other hair, women of the tribe don’t braid hair. They start their warriors training young, and it’s a part of the training. It’s truly a art form.
Amazing seeing African men doing females hair...especially Maasai men..too cool!. Lovely braids and the rolling on the leg technique is genius....would be so much quicker to do her head. Love the style and the girl is cute too. Nice job guys ❤

We are meant to learn and grow from each other. Hair braiding is very time consuming and ANY technique that can help women do it faster should be used without it being considered “theft”.

@@tinaanderson200 they charged me 40,000 Tanzanian shillings/20USD. So they charge according to the size you want.
Am a maasai,seing these maasai men do this makes me happy,maasai's men in nature are chauvinist and they believe certain job are not ment for them,when there are ceremonies they sit in tents and women sit on grasses where there are no tents,maa culture is a male dominated world and jobs like these for salons are not ment for men,that's what they believe,am so happy to see that they are welcoming new changes and the negative believes and culture is becoming distinct,the world has changed and it's no longer about cattle and sheep and happy that they are embracing the new world

Had these(much smaller size) done when I went back home (Zambia). They do amazing work, it was $35 and only took 3 hours to get done. The hair looks neat and well done, do hurt though so have your Excedrine and scalp spray handy.

The best braids I've ever seen are Massai braids. I had a Kenyan friend in college who would go home to get her hair braided on Christmas break. Their precision is unmatched! Now this was 30 years ago but the synthetic hair they used for braiding was different from what were find in states. It was a very kinky 4c textured type hair. Very similar to natural hair.
