Thank you bro, for making these vids. I was looking for one about stage markers. A few months ago I was touring and at some festival, the local guy told me about them and he applied them in such a way that he edited one position in his presets and BOOM! all other positions automatically fell into place. I dont how he did it, he showed me how to do it, but I cant recall every step. I mean I know how stage markers work and how to use them, but he did an extra step that allowed him to do this ´´position´´ trick. In grandMA 1 it was called embedded position, and it was really easy to do, but in MA2 embeded position means something else. Do you know or ever heard of this? Can you make a video about stage markers and if, in fact, there is way to edit only one position preset? Thanks again mate.

Hey there :) Just played around in MA3D a bit w/ stage markers and they look really interesting! I'll try to replicate the behaviour that operator showed you. What he did in only having to change one preset was probably working with embedded presets - that's something I'm planning to do a video on as well. Especially great for positions! What would you say is the pain point that was addressed by the technique the operator showed you? Like how would that make your life easier as an operator personally? That's just so I can understand the value of the tricks he showed you a bit better :) Thanks again for reaching out! Any feedback or idea like that is greatly appreciated!

Please do. I tried several things with embedded presets, but I ve never figured out how to applied them properly. Actually, it brought me problems, because when I edited the original position, the preset info was taken out of my cuelists and hard values replaced preset information. The main point was that he did not have to edit all position presets. The advantages are obvious (time saving). This guy I am talking about, did not activate embedded positions, he used the stage markers to set the four corners of the stage, he opened a pool or something where the console asked him how big the stage was, but sill: my goal is to edit only one position preset, in any way posible, be it with stage markers or activating embedded presets. I am programming right now, but as soon as I can I will try to get in touch with him and ask him. Thanks in advance, I am looking forward to that video. And if I can help, let me know.

Hey Elian, I'm prepping a video atm that explains the technique the guy showed you - and I would love to include you by name and with a picture as the source of inspiration for the video to hopefully trigger more people writing me with stuff to do a video on :) If you don't mind, please send me your name, twitter / fb / whatever (socials) and a picture I can use at jonas.peeck@googlemail.com, would love to include you in the video!

Great Video, but you might as well use your mouse to click through the examples since you continuously have to point out which macro you’re pressing. 😀

Haha yeah you’re right! 😃 Reason I did that though was so that the effect was immediately visible. Didn’t want to constantly have to bring the layout view back into focus. Could have solved that differently though 😁 Happy new year dude!
