I would not say his attitude is great. I would like to see a smile at least. What's the point to beat Ma Long if you are not happy ? No need for a loud scream but just a smile.

In recent times, malong usually recovers when he is trailing. Normally he adapts so fast, changes his style that he is always ahead of opponents. But in this match LYJ is consistent, fast and powerful. Did not give Malong any chance to recover. Congrats silent assassin LYJ, you are indeed living upto your name.

A long-time loyal fan of Ma Long here. I think he isn't at his best at the moment, and it might be because of his lack of hunger for the game after winning his third world title earlier this year, combined with fatigue and/or lingering injuries. I'm really hoping him to get another Olympic Gold next year in Tokyo before hanging up his paddle. By the way, this kid Lin Yun-Ju is a real deal with an incredible feel and natural instincts for the game. I think he'll go really far in his career. He's special!

t2 is a commercial game, that is a fact. Many player would choose to skip this match since there were 3 matches right before it. Especially with older players, they want to have a rest and avoid any injuries. Especially t2 games are using different rules, such as 5 piont, etc. Players has to accommodate the new rule with different strategies, which is not helpful for normal ITTF games. However the ITTF provided t2 commercial game with huge bonus points. If you don't play the game, you may suddenly fall behind of points, and this connects to the qualification of Olympic games. Therefore many people complain about it. I think what ma long is saying is that this is just a commercial game (which won't be considered within the team) and this is not his best condition (due to 3 matches ahead).

I get the feeling Lin could be another young flash in the pan. I still recall the last king and Queen killers, they struggle to get anywhere now, not to mention Tomokazu Harimoto, who was the best thing since sliced back hands, now he struggles. Unfortunately King and Queen killers are analyzed by everyone as soon as they peer over the net, from then on they can't understand why their speed and ability is being crushed by almost everyone. Harimoto was a bullet, still is, but his game play has been decoded. Let's see. Great play.

@@Ragameiste Sorry, I read some info from ITTF, but I think I got it wrong. It's not a fact. But when I think further, likely, ML won't play at Tokyo Olympics. Because at the moment, China has plenty of stable and well players (Xu Xin, Fan Zhendong, Lin Gao Yan, Wang Chuqin, Liang Jinkun), esp. Xu Xin. All of them is playing at Asian ATTU Championship 2019. I heard that, with the Olympics, only 2 players for a country to play singles. At T2 Malaysia, Ma Long appeared very worn out, lost to Lin Jun Yu. It was a disaster. I am sure China still remembers the "rebellion" of Ma Long, 2 years ago. He now is not in favor anymore. We all support Ma Long but now, I start to think if he's not coming back to form, he will lose out.

And ITTF's new ranking system basically forces older players to keep playing until they are exhausted and injured or retire altogether. Now T2 is suddenly giving rank points on top of all the Opens, killing the older players even more. Pretty soon TT players would have to start training in their mothers' uterus in order to get to the world stage at a younger age and stay there for a longer period of time.

@@whatup2003 I think the solutions maybe, there will be some different classes for Table Tennis according to Ages, like children below 15 years, 15-21, 21-40, 40 up, 50 -60 , 60 up etc.. just like boxing there are classes differences. Table tennis also can differ in styles like Class Offensives +, Class All Round and Defensive, because nowadays Defensive players are hard to really could compete with high levels Offensive players because of the technology of rubbers Blades, and mostly because of the 40+ plasctic balls that lower in spins but fast and heavy comparing to the old time celluloid Balls , nowadays no heavy backspins can be imparted , backspins looks like a normal balls to be attacked
