how does the loader determine what shell is which type during the night ops? the only real lights were near the gunner and commander. the loader only had a dim red light next to him

most will mark the base cap with a sharpie when they load them. Or load in specific ready rack slots based on type.

@@coldcoffee89 probably your second guess. I doubt you are seeing a standard sharpie in that darkness unless they have some extremely good glow in the dark sharpie

I haven't shot gunnery in a while, but might be just the camera too. Green or red light will show more than many give credit for.

i have a system i use for loading, sabot on the bottom, MPAT up top, also I use a sharpie to determine the round. uwu for sabot, owo for MPAT

Do those spent casings go into a trap or does it dump it under the tank? I was thinking it dumped them under but if it’s a biological war zone it wouldn’t go out under the tank but in a trap or something. If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated!!

It just falls on the floor you turn them in later. There is a guard that keeps it from bouncing around too much when it comes out.

I think most of the casing just disintegrates when fired and only the base ejects to the floor

Did gunnery standards change recently? Why is the TC saying rsnges during his offensive engagement? Should be "load sabot, on the way" if hes mentioning ranges, hes losing target exposure time especially on an offensive engagement when he has 0 defilade time and 0 obscuration time since its extremely windy. Yes, I VCE'ed this video

Is it normal for you (loader) to be sticking that far out when main gun fire isn’t expected? I’d imagine some plucky marksman would be licking their chops.

It's all according to situation. during a gunnery i stay out of the hatch to aid in spotting targets. In the field, i switch defilades to also aid in spotting targets, but when the fight gets heavy, i'm down hatch or on the 240.

No loader complete/TC complete that i can hear, -5 points for each on the triple simo
