I have to say I am pretty impressed with the M12 1/4 impact driver. I bought one over the holiday season which came with the pack out case. I also work on my car and the m12 always does what I need to do.

Hello and thank for watching. Yes the M12 is an amazing piece of equipment. BMW X1 2017 Diesel 2.0D version (17" wheels) lug nuts are set at 120Nm. The M12 also removed the lug nuts of a 2014 Land Rover Discovery SDV6 (Similar to a LR4 in USA) set at 125Nm with no compromise at all. And today I had a flat on a Land Rover Freelander 2 (2013) and I used the newer version GEN-2 of this M12 (under model 2553) with no problem at all. Newer version is supposed to have extra power (from 130Nm to 140Nm). Will post it later.

In quick service we have one of these but with a 3/8 anvil for skid plate removal, it’s kept in oily conditions in the pit. I’m not a fan of Milwaukee but it seems to do very well, especially being that it is abused by many different techs.

Yeah I bought impact wrench and driver to find out the driver could also remove my 100ft lbs with ease on the smaller 2ah battery. While it’s snowing outside so the bolts are cold which makes them harder to remove but it barely impacted. I had a ryobi bushed impact 18v 4ah battery and it couldn’t do it and eventually got very hot. But still nice to have both. But if you had to choose 1 tool the driver all the way for use of hex bits and power. Unless you had higher torque lug nut.

What sockets do you use? is there a specific brand or type for lug nuts?

Hello. I used Deep-Impact lug nuts by FORCE with protective ceramics. I bought them at CAPRIS.CR in Costa Rica for about $20 the set of 4 (17-19-21-22mm). Also, there is a set in Amazon by CARTMAN (Cr-Mo 5 Sockets 1/2" Drive Impact Socket Set with Protective Sleeves). Finally, there is another fine set of Deep-Impacts lug nuts by PARD without protective ceramics.
