Welcome back to the MILITARY DEFENSE Channel, I will discuss a brief History of The M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (ASV).
The M1117 Armored Security Vehicle is a turreted armored all-wheel drive vehicle that supports U.S. Army military police missions such as rear area security law, and order operations.
In 2020 it was announced that a total of 1,200 of these armored vehicles will be delivered to Greece. In 2023 it was announced that 250 of these armored vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine in order to defend against the Russian invasion.

This is basically a 4-wheel copy of the Russian BTR which costs 3 times as much while offering nothing more than its Russian counterpart.

This is a mine resistant vehicle, that’s why it’s so high up, it protects the crew from mines and IEDs. The BTR has a flat bottom and doesn’t offer much protection mines or IEDs. Different vehicles for different purposes.

lmfao it didn't even pass ballistic testing and is mainly used by military police, isn't even army-grade equipment
