I'm watching a show about singers and producers... And there isnt a single scene without autotune. Even the acoustic sessions and the scenes where they compose the song for first time, singing alone in a public park.. autotune!! "La reina del Flow" "the Flow Queen" in Netflix.

I still remember the night I discovered her. It was one of my last nights of studying before winter break started and society would transition from 2015 to 2016. I was at my mom's house (as was my sister). Its a weird feeling hanging out in a living room with your sister, a living room you and your sister have spent much time in together previously, the only difference now is that the house this living room resides in is no longer home to either of you, now it's just middle ground to convene. It was late and my sister had just left, headed for her apartment. I lived in another city so I decided to flip channels a bit longer before using my old bedroom as a hotel room for the night. All of a sudden, MTV was shoving this raw talent in my face. The sound was foreign, she was not particularly a good dancer nor was she the textbook version of beauty we have come to expect from western entertainers, but as she sang "kami-kami-kaze," I was hooked. I mean god damn: her voice, her sound, her art....it was exhilarating. Who was this? Turns out her name was MO (my phone doesn't know how to add a diagonal line through the O) and my playlists would never be the same again. True story friends!
