Victor Solano Exactly this is that ‘eyewitness book’ 90s style of aesthetic that is seen less
@BritishJuche

@@whydid2286 I'm intrigued, what do you mean by "eyewitness book 90s style of aesthetic"? I remember the exact type of books you mean, published by DK, but just curious what makes you think of that aesthetic here?
@whydid2286
4 жыл бұрын
eaglepies I would say it’s also analogous to the aesthetics you see when you go into a cheap Chinese restaurant. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like a combination of the dated, faded filter on the image (like on the menu pictures at one of those Chinese restaurants), and the interior decor decisions.
@BritishJuche

@@whydid2286 yeah I know what you mean there, can kinda picture it in the aesthetic style of those eyewitness books too, the old style fonts, and I think all of mine did fade because they were stored in the sun. You know I'm even more curious how we'll look back on these times in, say, 20 years... So much of our present aesthetic is derived from earlier times, I wonder if it'll still be distinct in retrospect?

eaglepies It would be like an average person trying to determine the difference in technology between a fighter aircraft from 1939 and one from 1945
Love the album cover, I wanna be there and sit with an ice cream in my hand, looking at people while listening to the album from my walkman.

Lol the opening with a slowed down lowered pitch of MJ Another Part of Me '87
Mallsoft ignited the embers of a deep appreciation for the aesthetics tropical plants that had been lingering in my head since the 90s.
Can we have this marble-and-shrubbery interior decor back, please?

Right!!
It saddens me no one is talking about Liberty Gardens. That is probably the best track I've heard from him so far period. It just gives you a sense of peace and tranquility.

I'm 8 years old again, checking out VCRs, TVs and other Home Entertainment™ systems with my dad/
Keppler and Finch really rocked me! The percussion and the synth-saxes took me back to the 80s!
The track Keppler & Finch Architects converted me to the comforts and pleasures of capitalism and consumerism.
I am a satisfied customer.

Love the dreamy Dave Koz that was added in. Sax blends so well with vapor wave.

now we only wish we could raise them back up to their only-slightly-lowered standards. or even have the ability to express the concept of superior and inferior.

07:51 "Keppler & Finch Architechs" sounds familiar and it remind me of the late 80's. Great music here but with terrible boring names...someone must've spent most of their time at school & the office lol
5:54 Liberty Gardens
Terminus remind me of Passenger 57 lol. I fucks wit it.

What’s the sample on the track Rivers Cafe
Chet
this is more like a jazz group playing in the food court, not the ambient music coming in faintly over the speakers i prefer in mallsoft. probably a great album, but not my jam
Is it my imagination or is there a Trump sample at the start of this album?
Is this?
