For the 2024 Noto, Japan Earthquake (M 7.5~7.6), there is an update: Previously only Shika has maximum intensity of X/7 while Wajima has intensity IX/6+. Now both Shika and Wajima have maximum intensity X/7.

Besides that the Wajima intensity updated from IX/6+ to X/7, the Noto intensity also updates from VIII/6- to IX/6+. There are a few seismic stations show up the intensities quite late.

For the earthquakes in Japan, the JMA Shindo intensity scale based on the JMA website is exactly accurate, the MMI intensity scale based on the USGS and the MMI intensity scale estimated from JMA Shindo intensity scale in the Shindo 7's EEW videos are all rough estimates.

Kinda lot of landslides, it probably one of the worst earthquake in ishikawa, because of too much aftershocks. Anyways, awesome video!

In some places, the ground on land has risen up to 4 meters (about 13 feet). This is the largest since the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.

@@doogaisLe The Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 caused the Boso Peninsula to rise by 2 meters. In the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake, the uplift almost directly above the epicenter was 3 meters, the largest since 1923.

5.8 earthquake hit Dabaw and I felt it

USGS estimates that the M7.5 earthquake occurred at 16:10:09, while JMA estimates that the M5.9 earthquake occurred at 16:10:09, just before the M7.6 earthquake at 16:10:22. Looking at replay videos of the earthquake, it can be seen that the shaking in Toyama, Niigata, Nagano, Gifu and Fukui prefectures was still around shindo 3-4 when the S-wave arrived, and the maximum shindo was observed 10-20 seconds later. The first earthquake early warning was only issued for Ishikawa Prefecture because the estimated magnitude was actually 5.5. If the M7.6 earthquake had occurred alone, a higher magnitude could have been calculated earlier using the formula for P-waves, but in reality, the P-waves could not be detected due to the M5.9 earthquake. It took some time before the S-waves of the M7.6 earthquake were observed, reflecting the increase in magnitude from 5.5 to 7.4. If a higher magnitude had been calculated from the start, as in this video, the warning would have been issued over a wider area. For the M6.5 Ishikawa earthquake in 2023, the earthquake early warning system estimated the magnitude at 7.0 and alerted seven prefectures: Ishikawa, Toyama, Niigata, Nagano, Gifu, Fukui and Gunma.

It is Shindo 7, the intensity markers are not final at earlier part of the video but updates to final at later part of the video.
