M 1 Base Model; Cold Start Up and Engine Run

Ғылым және технология

Here is the latest M-1 Base Model. Ive made a few refinements to the M-1 Base unit. It now features a hinged lid for easier fuel loading, water tank is cleaner looking and reduces the over all length of the unit, carry handles are now aluminum, and the jet nozzle features a water evaporator for enhanced water to steam production. The unit also much larger it is two wider and longer than the original version. Run times for the 420 CC 9000 watt predator is just under an hour. thats not far off of what the M-1 Ute has. Of coarse the Ute is also getting updates and its hopper will also gain considerable fuel capacity.
So here is the basic start up and engine run. As you can see this thing fires right up and runs stable.

Everything looks great! How much run time are you getting out of one hopper? Can't wait to see the newest rig!!!

That would be cool to know with a full load on the generator.

Anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depends on the size of the generator you run. If you need more run time pr load you can team multiple units together. You team up to three module together, however, your engine will need to be large to drive all three and sustain operating temperatures. If this is for an off grid system you need to run a battery bank. You dont ever want to run a any gasifier of any make or technology for more than 3 to 4 hours a day. You never keep up with fuel production and its a waste. You can build a 2 kW lipo bank with inverter for less than a $1000 bucks. 4 hours charge time will run that 24 hours a day in an RV. Run heavy loads during a charge cycle, light loads on battery standby.

Have you made some sort of "manifold" so gradually swap over to the generator from the flare?

This here is our lowest cost unit. So it does not have an integrated blower system like the higher end machines. So on this you have to use an external blower system and simply swap the hose over. On the M-1 SE and M-1 Ute that are equipped with the back pack, the start up blower is integrated into the system. When you are ready to switch to engine run from flare its just a matter of shutting off the blower and shutting off a valve.

How do you do a clean out

Do you see the big silver cap at the bottom? That is the clean out port. However you do not need to clean out a charcoal gasifier it turns the charcoal to white ash and very little accumulates. You only need to clean this out every 30 to 60 hours. The better you screen the dust out of the fuel the less you have to maintenance this and the filters.

What kind of nozzle life are you getting on your units Matt?

I have not seen one fail yet. The jet nozzle are shrouded by a big heavy coupling and as long as you keep water in the drip system it can not overheat. You will know if there is no water as you will not have any power and will want to re fill the tank to get full power back.

Nozzle are heavy wall 1/2" NPT SS nipples threaded one end. New drip system evenly coats the entire nozzle now for better cooling and evaporation or flash steam process. It is this evaporation that sucks the heat energy away from the nozzle.
