I love my Halestorm journey: around 2010, in Providence, I went to Lupo's to see Bullet For My Valentine, knew the bouncer, got there early, Lzzy was onstage, super small venue, belting out "familiar taste of poison", blew me away. I then saw her perform the same song live on Jimmy Fallon. That sealed the deal for me. Went to see them in Lowell, MA, Mohegan Sun, and in Boston, they bring it night after night, her vocals are other worldly, it's just a super tight band designed for live shows. I love turning others on to Halestorm who never heard of them, to see their minds blown too.🤯🎵🎶🔥💣

@@jamesbranner4029 Not really weird any more than the fact that all of us have mental health. Not a single one of us has "perfect" mental health anymore than any of us has "perfect" physical health. We all have our challenges, our struggles. We are all insecure about one thing or another, we all cope with things in various ways (some good, some bad). Every single person on this planet has mental health. We're all working on it. We all have our struggles, our strengths and our weaknesses. There's a reason why nearly every person on the planet hates Grade 7 and 8 (roughly age 12 and 13 for non-North Americans). It isn't because they are "bad", it is just because that is when they are forced to deal with their own personalities, with all the good and the bad. Most of us end up burring those insecurities for as long as we can until they come crashing down on us. Lzzy is dealing with them in a positive, healthy way that we can all take inspiration from.

@hosermcmoose I didn't hate 7th 8th or any grade non of what she says comes off real she hasn't written 1 song that acknowledges that in fact the exact opposite if you followed her as long as I have and seen the thousands of interviews I have maybe you would also agree it's put on and that's what makes me upset because it's nothing to pretend or make up even if having good intentions behind it.

@@jamesbranner4029 This is the most detailed she's been, but she's certainly discussed mental health before and alluded to issues in the past. Many of us realized things during lockdown that we had pushed off in the past, and I think Lzzy both did that and decided to talk openly. As much as I love her for her bad assness, I also love her more vulnerable songs and those I can read both ways. A major one is "I am the fire;" I will scream it at the top of my lungs, but when I go to darker places, I connect with it even more so as a song for reminding myself of what I can do.

One of the tools I use is to recognize it as it begins. When you recognize it tell yourself " oh here it is again ' or " ok I have done this enough times to know I will get through it and nothing bad is going to happen". Take its power away from it and give the power of control to yourself. Hey! Maybe there is a song there -:Take its power away. Anyhow I learned over the years that it can be stopped sometimes and also minimized others. Sometimes you just let it run its course and then get back to life. Much Love and Aloha to you and to all who suffer from this stupid thing we have called Anxiety. Rock on!

Your fans listen to every word of every song Lzzy, and we love it. You’re an amazing role model for you those young girls following in your footsteps. We know what it’s like having anxiety, one piece of advice that has stuck with me all these years is that sometimes you gotta tell yourself “don’t believe your own bullshit”. Your head will tell you that you can’t do this or your no good, that’s when you “no, I am not going to listen to that bs”. Keep doing what your doing, your fans are behind you all the way. 😍🤘 Raise your horns!

As an older (60) fan of hers, if I could give her and any other younger person a bit of life changing advice, it would be this. With age, you get more comfortable in your skin, whether it's worrying about your relationships, your job, your looks, etc, you'll begin to not care what others think about any of those things. The sooner you realize what others think is unimportant, the faster you'll be at peace. Live your life well, try to be a good person, if possible, give others a hand up along the way, and you'll find yourself loving yourself, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Peace

Yeah so weird out of all the interviews over a decade I've never heard her once mention any of this until they came knocking and bam all of a sudden she had mental health issues....... so weird!

I saw you opening for Godsmack not too long before the lockdown. Love you Lucy! I am very much enjoying you telling this! I have social anxiety really bad, I'm a total introvert. You make me proud that you can speak out for those who have been too scared. I'm 55. I am not going to get better, but I think you can help the girls your age and younger get past the curse!

Lzzy- love ya first off : ) I really respect your wisdom… your ability to touch people with your mental health advocacy, music and over all groovadelicness : ) Especially the late teens/early twenties peeps who are having issues. The age that shows up in many who are genetically predisposed to having a mental illness. I was a peer counselor for an online bipolar support group. I take my meds. ✌🏼 Cheers Lzzy and Halestorm! 💚🐸
