It's strange that Hollywood hasn't made a movie about it yet. Because this event has everything you need for a decent war movie.

Its the strangest battle because you have the US army, some Wehrmacht soldiers and an ss officer defending some french vip prisoners in an medival austrian castle against some die Hard Waffen ss troops.....

What happened to the Wehrmacht soldiers who fought with the Americans AFTER the battle of Castle Itter? We’re they taken as prisoner? Or…

I think what may be different is that the song sounds much more upbeat and happy compared to their other songs.

Yep, this is one of my favorites, because it is unique both in sound and the story behind it. Cant wait to see your reaction to the history behind this one, It's very cool, and it makes the song even more enjoyable when you know the full story behind it.

Same here, the story is just so interesting and learning about what Gangl and his men had been doing the few years before this battle and the events of the battle itself.

Agreed and this should be a movie NGL

The History on this one is awesome. Music wise what might be sounding different to you is the tempo. Compared to what I would consider the classic Sabaton sound it's a bit more mid paced and groovy. Little slower than stuff like Ghost Division but a little faster than stuff like Winged Hussars. Makes a nice change and is one of my fave songs on that album.

One of my favorite songs with one of my favorite stories

Ok to be clear, the war did not end when Hitler killed himself. The western surrender was a week after his death and the eastern two days later. The battle of Castel Itter was 2 days before the western surrender.

This battle is kind of stuff you would expect to be a cheap 70s Action B-Movie, but its not ;)
