Lyric Breakdown Of My DEHH Posse Cut Verse

Музыка

If you weren't aware, me and the guys from Dead End Hip Hop recorded a posse cut called Nowhere To Turn. Again, this was all in good fun and sort of a challenge to see if we could do it. And we did. Today I'm breaking down my lyrics for the song.

niiiiiice! love the fact that there was not one wasted word. your experience writing metal lyrics was apparent right from the first line and throughout the rest of the verse too. trim the fat and keep the meat. coded upon first listen and then when you break it down, it hits like slam poetry. ✍🏽🤘🏽✊🏽 *random thought - inspectah deck/cappadonna writing to blast beats hahaha

"Belief bereft, I've been writing my euology for 2 scores. And I'll be damned if I continue writing yours anymore." These lines are BEAUTIFUL. Massive respect to Myke, he even taught me a new word, LMAO. I had to Google "bereft".

My initial reaction to the Myke C Town verse when I 1st heard it was as followed. "I can hear Aesop Rock, Busdriver, DOOM, El-P, etc. This is exactly what I was expecting."

I think a Myke C-town Ep is worth making. The only issue I had with his verse is i couldnt hear all the words being spoken. This breakdown is what i was looking for because of this. Theres so many layers to this that if the flow is super tight, it demands replay because it sounds good. Myke, if youre reading this, I hope this aint your last time doing this

2:23 People don't realize how hard rapping is. Even just regular rapping. I'm not talking about elite rappers. That's why I never take for granted anyone that raps at a certain level Just the breath control plus falling on the snare and the drum kick at the right time. Then having personality on the top of that. I would argue flowing is sometimes harder than writing. If you can write rhymes you can have a decent verse but rapping is a different ball park. Given that I would say that you guys actually killed it .Plus you actually did amazing writing as well

I really liked the notion how hard it is actually to write raps and fitting with the beat and all that. I actually tried to write some rhymes (for chuckles) after watching the premiere and all I came up was some lame puns about my favorite music or whatever. It just really takes a lot of imagination and creativity to write stuff, let alone to turn it into vocals at recording booth - hell, I would never want anyone to see the lines I wrote, let alone to actually hear me rapping them on beat, so huge kudos for making the posse cut and breaking down your own verse! Lots of thought put into it.

I can fucc wit this tho fr. And also since you here, mad respect on the verse. I need to check out the poetry game now frfr. It's funny cause Rod got "best verse" but yours is the only intellectual one with a message that would be worth coming back to and dissecting a year from now

Was getting Myka9 off your delivery and Aesop inspired lyrics. How much did your goal for the verse change as you were writing it either style wise or content wise? There’s genuinely some slickness to these lines and I think if you just refined your performance you could make a side-career out of this.
