This is one of my favourite hidden "B" side gems on the album.. I always loved this song and when I name the song to some Skynyrd fans they don't know it because it didn't get any airplay, thus the hidden gem. I find every classic/southern rock band has one or two of these.

Skynyrd is from Jacksonville. Sweet Home Alabama was a shout out to the state of Alabama after they went to Muscle Shoals to record tracks that would later be released after their plane crash. The album is First And Last. This gem of an album was later re released as "Skynyrds First" It was expanded to include even more gems. From this album came this song, Comin Home". There are many great songs on the album. There are maybe four songs on the expanded edition that feature lead vocals from Rickey Medlocke. Ricky's grandfather, who raised him was the inspiration for the song "Ballad Of Curtis Loew", another banger. Rickey played drums on this song. Currently, Rickey plays lead guitar for Skynyrd.

No original members left. The only guys left that played with them in the 70’s are Artimus Pyle and Rickey Medlocke. Medlocke is the only one still playing with the band.

👍 No problem! Me too! Check out a documentary about them called “If I Leave Here Tomorrow” if you haven’t seen it, and can find it on line. Really interesting. A lot of interviews with Artimus Pyle and the late Gary Rossington. Talks about the history of the band and the aftermath of the plane crash which these 2 and others in the band survived.

That's what I loved about America. People were different wherever you went. That's a good thing. That's what made America unique. We've lost that for the most part. I think the internet has changed America. Now everybody wants you to think like they do. When you don't then you are wrong. It's really sad. Indifference is a beautiful thing, or at least it was. Peace.

Hey! Native GA boy here! Welcome, man! (Though I know you said you’ve been here for some time.) Glad you’re a ‘neighbor’! 🙂 Thanks for featuring this song. It’s one of my personal favorites from them. One doesn’t have to be a traveling musician to relate to this and really feel it. This is my first time seeing one of your vids. I’m happy it showed up in my recommended vids. New fan here, man! Love and light to you and yours! 🙂

I just remembered this one today and had to search for it. So few folks have reacted to this gem. LS had so many beyond incredible tunes. And nope, they're not from AL. I believe they're from FL. Great reaction!

To me this whole album is one of the best albums they had Every song on this album is fire Which like I said it doesn’t matter which album or song you listen to from this band There all good I don’t know of another band that can say every song they did was fire or relatable in some way What is so crazy to me is Ronnie wrote all of these songs in a five year span If this man had not pasted away in the plane crash Just think of the great music we never got to hear

I think Ronnie was saying he really just missed his people in Jacksonville after Skynyrd would be out on the road touring for months & months. Maybe even the "Torture tour" in 1975 . That caused them to lose 2 band members !!!!!
