i gota say i was really mad when the pick came in. i really wanted cooper. but watching this kids tape and i do see some special traits in him. did they reach, yes they did, but if the kid is a mix of edelman and kittle then the gamble paid off

The facts that the Niners: 1) Took a WR in Rd#1 (not a position of immediate need) rather than a top CB or O-Lineman... 2) Did not take the top rated WR, or even BPA... 3) Used their #1 pick on a player who will not start this year... All point to the Niners thinking that the roster was not the reason they lost the SB. THAT means that they recognize that the reason they lost (another...) SB was Kyle. A great HC can overcome a weak roster to some degree and get them to overperform. A great roster cannot overcome a weak HC.

Where the O-line? Purdy needs time to get it to the receivers!

Some OL still available but only if Niners trade up to the 2nd round top 20 picks otherwise they will probably be gone by then. If they do somehow jump back up in early 2nd round it will either be for a CB or an OL. DL is also a possibility. LB will be later rounds

Nice depth player. More of a Aiyuk style WR than Deebo or Jennings. I still see the niners signing Aiyuk. Egos are going to have to be in check and that’s up to the organization and management to keep all happy. I could see Aiyuk saying wtf vs Deebo.

I'm sure Persall is a great player but we need offensive linemen. I'm surprised. So, we did nothing to protect and give Purdy more time.

I'm a seahawks fan and would rather the niners got Worthy than Pearsall. Watched some texas games and Worthy had a ton of drops and he's not physical. Pearsall catches everything and will terrorize the seahawks over the middle like Deebo and Aiyuk have done.

They probably wanted Wiggins whom the Ravens took one pick ahead of us. They should have moved up or been prepared to trade back with the Panthers and give themselves another night to reconvene and take the best player on the board.

Mike silver being there and trying to instigate had me dead. I will say this: like the pick. Like the player I see what he can do now and think is skillset is very Shanahan esque. Can see him playing a role on this team especially punts his first year. His combine numbers are very impressive. 4.41 42 inch vert and 17 reps on bench stand out and show he’s a really elite athlete. Tape looks awesome. But man I hope they don’t get rid of any of these wideouts. They are so great together even Jauan. If john lynch finds a way to keep everyone together and happy and isn’t just doing a good job handling the media and playing politics with his answers then he’ll have my complete trust. Regardless he’s a great GM but he’s been very truthful in the media and I respect that and hope they can get out of this situation with the same team in tact

Why not trade down with the Panthers and give yourself an extra 24 hours to take the best player on the board to start round 2? Ricky would have still been there. Lynch was too busy waiting for someone to call for Aiyuk or Deebo. As a result he allowed the Lions and Chiefs move up and take a player they could have easily traded up for!

What did the chiefs give up to the Bills to move up for a WR? The Bills ended up picking a WR after the Niners, thus maybe the Niners took Pearsall away from the Bills. Also if koolaid is that good, how come the bills don’t draft him to counter the chiefs fast WR they traded up for?

@@tommydong8070 The Chiefs gave up their 3rd and 7th round picks for the Bills 4th and 7th round picks. Essentially all they did was move down in the late rounds to move up in the 1st to take the player they loved. The Bills are idiots for continuing to help one of their rivals. They did it back in 2017 too when the Chiefs traded up for Mahomes. Thank goodness there are still 6 more rounds left because round 1 definitely left something to be desired.

Depth is important considering how much they use their receivers. People were saying all season that Kyle was running cmac too much involving him in both the run and pass game. They trust the o line they have more than the fans do that’s for sure. But it wasn’t a bad pick.

The talent left for tackles is not worth taking in the first round, so might as well draft the receiver now and get a tackle like caeson Wallace, Blake fisher who have visited with the niners already in the 2nd to 4th rounds. It’s hard to get a starting tackle no matter what, it’s fine to build depth later if you don’t like the guys available

@StandingFirmAlways how does our long game suffer? No QB who played more than half a season had more air yards per attempt. Purdy was in the top 5 for longest amount of time in the pocket. Yes some of that is because Brock has scrambling ability.

Pick 32 Xavier Legette is better then Pearsall at WR. Carolina Panthers were like thanks very much.

This is honestly a worst pick we ever gotten for Res and Gold so far into the 31st overall in a first round 2024. Because this potentially means that Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel could possibly leaving SF. And ignoring an O-Lineman or a single CB is needed for this team for good factor. And Lynch or Kyle are sincerely blind minded if not doing their thing as usual, hate to say it. I mean is he really a good Wide Receiver core for this offense for Brock Purdy?.
