Lymphedema Massage: FULL Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage for LEFT LEG Lymphedema

Lymphatic drainage massage, or lymphedema massage, is an important part of managing leg lymphedema and lipedema. Follow along for a FULL manual lymph drainage (MLD) routine. I describe the techniques and sequence I use to decrease lymphedema and also address fibrosis. I also discuss and review differences of sequencing for those with lymphedema in both legs compared to just the left leg only.

@@hayatbiba9951 I understand your worries. Treatment is the first step. Getting it under control and then managing it. Like any life changing situation, you will have to adjust to your new normal. But over time, i assure you, you will adjust and learn to live your life. At times it may not be easy. That's just reality, but stick ieth your prescribed plan to address your condition and I am sure you will get that routine down. Places like this KZread account is super helpful on how to improve the ways you manage it. I was 11 when I first had it and those early years were rough... I wanted to run and play and missed just about a year of activities before I had controlled it enough to return. It will take time but if you do all the good things, it can be managed.

I have a friend who I am a Caregiver for who has had edema in his legs since January of this year. He was recently measured for Circaid wraps which his doctor said should help the swelling to be reduced in his legs. He also said that he should be able to put them on or take them off himself. Tina, the person who measured his legs , was really concerned about the swelling in his left foot gifted him with a wrap for his foot. She showed us both how to wrap it and said that hopefully the swelling will be reduced somewhat by the time he has to come in and be fitted with his wraps. Thank you for sharing your information on Massage for Lymphedema in the left leg. I am certain that with all of the changes he is making ( controlling his salt intake, drinking more water, and cooking and eating a better food plan in addition to taking his medicine) this will definitely help to reduce the swelling in his legs. ✨👍👍✨ Thank you.

This video is just perfect. I needed it so much. It made me weep tears of joy to have found your channel. I was diagnosed with left leg lymphedema last week (10 months after I had radiation treatment) and it’s all new and I’m still very uninformed since I will start my first physiotherapy treatments next week when I will get my compression tights and etc.. but your video has already helped my husband I understand the logic lymphatic drainage and how our body system works and what we can do at home and, most of all, what I can do on my own. Thank you so much for your amazing work.

You do want to be hydrated-I think the trick is to get that lymph fluid up & unstuck so it can make it back with all the other fluids to your kidneys & then out. I would not hold back on drinking. My understanding is there will be more urine produced on Ed we get the lymph fluid back in circulation. I’m just learning.

My sister cannot walk very far and fears she will never leave the nursing home. Is there a book that I can purchase about Lymphedema that I could send to her to maybe give to her physician whom she rarely sees but it might help? Her toes do not look like toes at all. It really is a nightmare. I have lymphedema in my right breast and right arm due to cancer surgery. Due to Covid 19 the they closed the therapy facility. I will follow your technique to help me. If your legs swell to literally like 10 x normal size, does it mean it could be more serious? Or just had been a problem undiagnosed longer? Should I be worried I might be about to have a heart attack?

Very informative, and helpful. I appreciate access to this technical work. I suggest that you incorporate a little story and some type of music, whatever you find to hold people's attention a little better. Obviously, the reason is to move lymph to flow better. What type of situations can cause the lymph not to work properly? Why are these exercises necessary? Give us some ideas like the one you mentioned about a cold coming on, etc. What situations call the need for lymphatic drainage? How long, and how often do you suggest self treatments? What routines are best for a therapist to do for a client vs on yourself? What types of foods slow down lymph? Is it important to drink water or lemon and water before or after lymph drainage?

I totally disagree, this video is perfect. Perfect. We all know why we are here, no unnecessary bla-bla-bla and background music is also totally unnecessary and extremely annoying. Her voice is perfect and there is not a single thing missing in this video. This video almost makes me cry tears of happiness because it’s helping me so much...

I have had swollen lymph nodes in my groin for a few years. I am 26. Does that mean I have lymphedema?

I don’t think so, you might just have an infection and your body is fighting back. The lymph nodes can get swollen when your body is fighting infection... then they go back to normal. Lymphedema can happen when they (lymph nodes) stop working and the fluids start to accumulate and fluid get stuck in different parts of the body and those parts get swollen and eventually fibrotic. Lymphedema pretty much happens when the lymph nodes are no longer working or were removed.
