Great review and interview. I found it to be informative. In terms of the effect the product had on your skin over 3 months, I don’t really think your skin has deep wrinkles, pigmentation,sagging or scarring from pictures posted, so it makes it very difficult to see any noticeable changes. Thankyou for your review though, it was quite insightful having heard what questions were asked and responses from the maker.

Thanks for the review! Comparing the BEFORE and AFTER pictures I don't see any results that are convincing me. For wrinkles, we as a Beauty Salon have beautiful results with a bi-/multi-polar RF, used once a week for 5-8 weeks. The home device RF you may use twice a week for a longer time of course.

Thank you for the video and the interview. It was really well done with all the right questions asked. It was also very balanced, much more so than the other Lyma reviews I have seen. I would love a six month update too. I have been using this laser for 15 minutes twice a day for 3 weeks now on my face and neck. The Lyma concierge told me I should spend 15 to 30 minutes daily for a minimum of 3 to 6 months. I saw a definite improvement in the area around your eyes. Hope to see another video, short or not, in 3 months.

Thanks for the feedback on the video. Impartiality and honesty are key to me and my reviews. 👍 It’d be good to hear how you get on with the #Lyma laser over time! I wondered if it was just the lighting change around my eyes? I know the Lyma website says “15 minutes daily won’t just improve your skin, it will transform it,” but I used it a lot longer than 15 mins. Some days I’d laser my face for about 1 hour and 45 mins. The more I think about doing a 6 month update, the more I realize it wouldn’t be valid. I’ve already been using other skin interventions since releasing the video and am set to continue because of my age and impatience!🤣

@@HealthHackers ok understood re the 6th month review and it not being valid. The 15 min for Lyma is minimum, I also use it for a very long time (while watching an entire Netflix film for example). Sure I can and will update over time. In my opinion, although it is a very expensive initial outlay, if it can even postpone some aging over the next ten years, then it will be worth it. Let's see...

@@dhuniya108 I am sorry but I am not going to be super helpful. This is what I can say. I feel like I did start to see results after about 7 months. During the renovation of my apartment, the thing somehow got misplaced for months, I got out of the habit, and I am only starting again now. I tremendouslty regret not having used it. consistently. I literally just started again yesterday, so have to say that I am still undecided re how well it works. Now that I have found it again, I plan to use it every day again. There must be others out there now that have been consistently using it for a while now. I am also going to look for some updated reviews.

Please keep us updated! We'd appreciate a 6 month update. As of now, I feel like your real results don't justify the price tag. The photos on the website show significant change which maybe don't translate in real life.

Hi Gemma, great video. :) I love how your opinion is always unbiased. I just wanted to get your insight if you think this laser is 100% safe? I read that you should never us LLLT laser over your thyroid gland as this can disrupt it and also in the medical resources I've read, they stated you should always wear goggles. Why are they saying that googles aren't required with this particular laser? Also since this laser operates at a 808nm wavelength, it penetrates the maximum in the skin. Do you have any insight if this can reach your organs etc.? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hi West Coast. Thanks for watching! On your point about the thyroid, I’m aware of research that looked at potential positive effects of LLLT on thyroid function, not negative. Do you have a link to where you read that LLLT is proven to disrupt the thyroid gland? I’d like to read that. As for the lack of goggles with the LYMA, the company maintains that it is safe to use around the eyes because of its “optical arrangement”. However, they obviously don’t advise looking directly at it, but you wouldn’t want to anyway - it’s bright!

When you used it on your face, did you need to look into a mirror, because you still see the light emitting from it when you use it if you need to look into the mirror to use it. The blue light brightness hasn’t bothered my eyes when using as suggested (ie not deliberately looking at it!). And no, I don’t use in front of a mirror. I’m usually watching TV or video calling my fam when I use it. 😊

👏👏 A great interview. Definitely a VERY serious financial outlay. I'd certainly want to consult a doctor prior to committing to using it. For someone who's got major skin trouble it could be beneficial, but the purchase / monthly costs would be have to be carefully considered. Definitely thought provoking, Gemma 👍☺️

Doctors have no business commenting about anything they haven't studied in depth so be sure to consult one whose interests is in d area of lasers

I have been using the laser every day for 20 minutes on my face. I took before and after photos and there is a significant difference in my skin after 3 months. If I hadn't have taken the before pics, then I'm not sure I would have realized how different my skin looks as it's a very gradual transformation. I throughly recommend the laser.

Thanks for the video. However I think someone with more wrinkles would have been more convincing! You had great youthful skin to start with so I'm not especially convinced as you still have great youthful skin afterwards.

Thanks Daniel! I did continue and I still use it. I’ve been happy with my skin but I’m also pregnant now and noticed that my skin texture improved all over my body once I was pregnant so I may need to attribute that to hormonal changes rather than the laser!

The "Before and After" photos are using different light sources. The lighting on the "After" photos is indirect and the skin tones are warmer.

Your smile wrinkles to the left of your left eye (me looking at from right side) look less pronounced, but then the residual 3 wrinkles to the left of them look non-existent, like they went away. Is that the result of your camera? The lighting is different in your 2nd photo, could you recreate your second photo with the same initial light conditions? Or at least use the same setup for future photos? Can you compare to someone who used the Tria Age-Defying SmoothBeauty laser? Can you please give us an update at gradually bigger intervals such as 3mo, 6mo, 9mo, 12mo, 18mo, 24mo, 36mo? Can you please compare it to newer 999,000 flash no-cartridge-refill IPLs that have separate settings for Acne Removal (RA) and Skin Rejuvenation (SR)? Have you heard if those work, or just take longer, predictably, but heard of actual results from someone who tried both IPL on one side of the face, and Laser on another, haha? Or if you haven't tried those IPLs, have you had friends try to compare? Thanks for answering some or all of my questions!

That is my thinking on it! You get a ridiculously measly 14 day return window and the laser has to be UNUSED and unopened, basically. It's an expensive scam and these greedy jerks should be ashamed of themselves

Thanks for watching. I just use it with my normal daily moisturizers. Sometimes I add something a bit more oily to get a better ‘glide’, like squalane.

Super interesting and in depth review thank you. I have one major issue with the Lyma- the short warranty. You mentioned the pricing as it relates to the projected 10 year lifespan- and if the company provided a warranty that would stand over that claim then it would instill confidence, but they don’t. A 2 year warranty for a product they say has a build quality/lifespan of a decade makes little sense to me. I can buy a range of consumer products that routinely offer warranties of 5 even 7 years. They need to evidence their faith in the build quality by providing a longer guarantee before I would even consider a purchase.

Hi Alison. I have continued to use it. However, my skin texture appeared to improve in general once I became pregnant earlier this year. I feel like I’d really have to credit pregnancy hormones rather than the laser for that. 🤷‍♀️ I do find the laser helps areas of my facial skin feel calmer if I’ve had some minor irritation on my cheeks, for example. Sorry if that’s not very helpful. 😕

@@HealthHackers Congratulations on your pregnancy! You're probably right regarding your skin changes being due to the hormonal changes in pregnancy. Seems that the Lyma laser isn't all it's cracked up to be then if it just calms areas of irritation and nothing else 🤷. I'm thinking calomine lotion would probably do the same thing for that... Much less time and money too! 🤣

Hi, what is the difference between the Lyma and other LLLT handheld devices? There are several that combine 808nm and 650nm . Most of them cost around $350, a fraction of the price of the Lyma, and it seems like the technology is the same.

They’re exactly the same thing. Maybe the one you buy for your dog to treat her arthritis is much stronger than this ridiculously expensive device.

I was considering this product for the dreaded keratosis pilaris and the accompanying skin discoloration that comes with that. However, for this price and the small size of the device I am not certain it would be a good investment. The photos on the website are quite drastic and do not compare to this real review. How grateful I am for legitimate reviews from actual users!

Hi MJ, thanks for your comment. I have KP on my upper arms and never actually thought of using the LYMA there! I do think I would find it uncomfortable to use the laser for that though. Like you suggested, the laser has a relatively small surface area and I’d have to stretch across my body with the other arm to hold and move the LYMA repeatedly over the KP area.🥴

I've been using the lyma laser for just over 3 months now and have very mixed views about it. Yes it's an initial expense..but I have been paying £400 every 3 months for collagen wave treatment which is good but wears off after a few weeks so the lyma laser which is said to give 10 years of use is overall a good investment. I'm 57 years old and I have been using the lyma laser twice a day for 15/20 minutes each time on my face neck and hands after watching the video on the lyma laser website and that 15 minutes is adequate, but having watched this video I am now wondering if this has been long enough as you are saying it's 15 minutes for each area... therefore it would be 2 hours each day! Overall I have been very pleased with the fact my skin appears tighter, brighter and some of my age spots are starting to diminish although not as much as I thought they would after looking at all the information on the lyma site about the effects of using this laser. It does rattle a bit as though the battery is loose which is a bit annoying but it doesn't affect the laser output. It's a bit difficult to keep the 2 hour battery recharge dates as I use it more on the odd days so I messaged the lyma team and asked if it had less effect when the battery was lower and they assured me it still worked at the same intensity. I still have some of my serum and mist left as I don't use it every time I use the laser as it doesn't glide over my skin as well as when I use my own moisturiser. I keep getting emails from the lyma company saying I must be running out of the serum and mist and the option to buy it again but now after watching this video I feel that it won't affect the results by not using them. I am going to now see how I go after 6 months as stated in this video rather than the 3 months I was initially told on their site.

Hi Suzie, thanks for your comment. I’d be really keen to hear what you think after six months. Like you say, doing 15 mins per area takes about two hours. Yep! It’s quite time consuming now that I try to use it in the daytime rather than nighttime (I’m attempting to minimize blue light at nighttime for my circadian rhythm). Some days I just can’t use it for as long as I’d like. Keep in touch and I’m glad you’re enjoying it after investing in it. You deserve to!

@@NA._ it's been 8 months since Ive been using the Lyma Laser now and I have noticed my face has toned up tremendously especially under my chin, I exercise a lot and eat healthy (always have done) so I wasn't saggy and wrinkly just some creases under my eyes and starting to lose some elasticity under my chin, but I can say using this laser for half an hour every day has toned up my face, chin and neck area made my skin glow and it generally feels tighter and I can highly recommend this laser if you are prepared to use it daily and consistently to see the excellent results....yes it's an expensive cost initially but in the long term I feel it is a good investment as I no longer pay £400 every 3 months for a collagen wave treatment and I now have the laser for future years! I would say the results of using the Lyma Laser is gradual over the months and I am impressed by how much my skin has improved generally.

Some worry It costs usd2500, if useless, then lost and no refund?

@healthHackers I am soooo intrigued by this! But it is sooooo expensive! I would have to have it shipped to the US first and then to Kenya (by the way it's cheaper to get it in the US than in the UK as 2000 GBP are at the moment almost 2900 dollars!) Anyway, did you have to pay a lot of customs to get it into the US? Also, I would say that IF the device work, well, you are in your 30's, don't have wrinkles or sagging yet, so obviously I don't really see what it could really do except improve your skin texture / glow.... So that could be a reason there is not much result on you yet!

Hi! It’s really hard to tell. I felt my skin was great throughout pregnancy and that may have been due to hormonal changes. Since having my baby and breastfeeding, I’ve had dryer skin, less ‘plump’ to my face, and honestly feel like my crows feet are more pronounced than ever. However, I don’t use the laser as often as I’d like. I do feel like it helps calm irritation if my cheeks feel a little inflamed at times. And the mini spot scar on my cheek (referenced in the video) is less visible.

You could email LYMA via the website and ask them. Personally, I still haven’t seen a significant improvement to the spot scar on my face that I mentioned in the video. But I found this on the LYMA site about acne scarring: lyma.life/journal/the-ultimate-home-laser-for-acne-scar-removal/

So tempted by this but just not sure the results justify the price tag!

I've been wondering if there is a risk of facial fat loss from using this? NIR laser light and LLLT has been used as treatments for body contouring and fat loss and they say right on their website that is penetrates to the fat layers

I can’t say I’ve noticed any facial fat loss. But I’d be interested to hear from other users on that.

@@HealthHackers Me neither and I've been using it for over 6 months. I've been doing a lot of reading on NIR for fat loss and they say it doesn't actually burn off fat but allows the cells to release stored fat into the bloodstream. You still need a calorie deficit diet to see results. So as long as you're eating enough I think it should be safe? I've contacted the company to see what they say.

Given the laser only has a small surface area (as you know!) it’d be interesting to hear what response you get from the company. Would you want a facial device that triggers fat loss?

@@HealthHackers This is the response I got: "I can assure you that the LYMA laser will not cause any fat loss or loss of volume in the face. The laser treatments that you refer to are IPL and ablative lasers that work on a stress damage response on the skin that causes damage to the layers of the skin, which can sometimes result in damage to the fat cells and therefore result in the appearance of a thinner face. The LYMA laser will lift and tighten dimpled skin, but it will not break down fat cells, burn fat or cause fat loss." They also included some studies and information on the lyma laser and LLLT. I responded back stating "Thank you. i was curious because I've seen companies promoting LLLT for fat loss as well as seeing some studies." Their response: "I'm pleased that I was able to help. Please do let me know if you have any further concerns or questions as and when they may arise."

Hi Poppy. Thanks for watching. There’s no up video. I had a baby and rarely have my hands free to be able to use the LYMA laser these days. I try to use it on my C-section scar when possible. Not sure if it’s made any difference yet though.

Hi Marc - my update is that I became pregnant and my skin texture improved all over my body! I'd say that's down to pregnancy rather than the laser though :)

Does Lyma come with both blue and red color laser?

My one shines blue.

The before and after pictures show zero improvement. Paying that sort of money and using the laser for a few months , you would expect some visible results especially with the claims the company makes

I agree you can’t see a difference but your skin is so good without anything to Improve that it seems like it would be impossible to tell. Looking gorgeous and youthful anyhow!

Why can’t you just order when needed? Subscription is a no go for me!

Interesting,but I think is very tiring to circle around the face for about 45 min.I think a Face mask with this lights integrated would be a better solution... basically lay back and relax...

Stem Cells from orchids? Not even those derived from human embryos are effective enough when applied on top of intact skin (not wounded). Oxygenated water? It will evaporate in seconds. Likely useless. Sure, lasers penetrate deeper than LEDs but IF they do, they will without the complimentary expensive products. Also, true, LLLT is more expensive than LEDs, but not this expensive (LLLT devices for hair growth are made of 272 Laser diodes and cost less than the LYMA, which has .. how many!?!?? Sure, the 5000 mW are impressive for an home device but it is handheld. It will take forever to cover properly your entire face ) . Sorry, the theory might be valid but the price is simply hilarious (in the negative sense of the word). Also, the extra pimples might be brought by those products, the PH of which , as you explained, is not ideal....

@@HealthHackers There is a ton of literature on LLLT but I doubt this small device will be able to offer the full spectrum of benefits which LLLT might offer. And the price really is madness (imo) :) , even without the skincare it comes with.

Tell me about it. Since having a baby it’s become even harder to find time to hold it in one hand for a decent amount of coverage.

For people who have this laser: Does it rattle a bit when you shake it? Like something is loose inside? Mine does and I was told as long as it turns on and all the lights are working that it's totally fine.

That’s good you’ve found something that helps with your acne and rosacea. I was using the Lyma on sore neck muscles today and they feel much better now. It could have been a total coincidence and nothing to do with the laser but I’m happy with it 🤷‍♀️😊

🤔 My husband got me the laser for Xmas by ordering it online. It shipped from the UK to USA but he says it did get held up at customs for about a week, which meant it actually missed Xmas and arrived just after!

The LED light (competitor product and the blue light in this) are surface level but the laser part which is near invisible to the eye penetrates the deep layers of the skin

I don’t see an improvement :( Good job you can recover some of the costs by reviewing it. How about after three months?

Thank you for keeping us up to date with the lates gadgets. Initially I found it very appealing that the company did not follow up on your initial request to review - hence they do not need the publicity - hence the product speaks for itself. However, I didn’t find Lucy credible in the interview. Your point about PH-levels was brushed off in a not so elegant manner. Furthermore, your point regarding blue light seems valid - and you were (apparently) given an incorrect answer. It does seem like the tec. is valid - but at this stage I would not dive in. Perhaps if I had a scar or was bothers by other conditions. But for purely anti ageing purpose I’m not considering the device. It must honestly take you ages to use?

You’ve clearly watched the entire video, and that makes me happy because I put a lot of hours into making each of my videos!😊 To your point about the length of time I spend using the laser, you’re right, it can take a while. In order to cover my face and neck for 15 mins per area, I can easily end up spending nearly two hours on it. Thank you for watching.🙏

I don’t think the science behind it is convincing as there is not a single publication on any research website or journal to be found. I am a German doctor and could not find any traces of Lyma in the German dermatology field either. To me, it’s a big scam.

what is that a cream?

The interview was helpful to understand why this laser is so over priced. And they keep bumping up the price but no one says it's a bump up in the technology so grade is D- 1) Lighting: You should have matched lighting originally from pic one to pic two instead of saying you don't know if it's the lighting... You took time to do this video you could have easily matched the lighting with a ring light. So the jury is out on the results. 2) Your face before actually looks better. However, recommendation, if you had shared with us what part of the face you were actually working on it may have helped to see, but based on pics you shared, no clue what we're looking at... All looks the same for the most part. 3) The before pic looked better than the after pic so not sure if you're trying to over-sell the product with no commission but can't really see a big difference except your chin had more break out in the after pic. CONCLUSION: For a product close to 3000 USD dollars can barely see a difference NO way would buy this over priced hype... Yes, they spent years on the technology and they have to recoup their money back. But as far as drastic changes, NO. Sorry I can't see it. And spending 3000 dollars we need to see DRASTIC changes.

I honesty think that your skin got better in the second pictures but it could also be the lighting like ur skin is much. more brighter than before but again it could be the lighting

Didnt you have a baby recently? I'm confused... I;m serious about the trialing of this on someone my age though as I am very interested but its so expensive.

When was sunlight ever touted as an anti-wrinkle skincare solution? 😊

One concern (major one) is that it uses blue led light (470 nm blue led). The same led light that we buy filters for our technology for. That ultimately in the long run may end up destroying healthy cells. Am I the only person concerned about this?

For that price tag one should expect better results if not faster. It just sounds like an expensive investment for little return. For that money I can have a better more effective instant treatment at a dermatologist's office v

For that much money you can several expensive laser treatments (like Halo) that take maybe 30 minutes and give you way better results. Or you can spend $3k on this and have to use it EVERY day and I doubt it even works. Just being realistic.

You are very pretty. I think for a few thousand dollars I’d rather get treatments at a spa that way as new technology emerges I can keep changing as well not feel obligated to a gadget bc it was over priced.

Does the laser have both red and blue light? I’m having difficulty finding the difference between the two other than the US only can get the red to them. Any awareness on this?

Maybe because the blue light can be problematic in the long run? I'm confused too. Is the US red now pulling from the red nm (600 +on the light spectrum)? In which case I'd be willing to try it. Does anyone know?

I very much doubt that it does anything, apart from leaving a dent in your bank balance. Lasers need to be more powerful to actually do anything of significance to skin.

The credible source mentioned as "peer review literature" -- was Dr Graeme Glass --- looking further into it, i see hes working for LYMA.. so thats a bit shady.

The price tag is enough to age you.Some poor results and testimonies - for the price it should not fail anybody but it seems to be all hype.Im out.
