Love that there’s a shower w/ a toilet that u can remove, while showering. There should be a locked panel door for the outside city or gravity water, so no one bothers it. I also, love that the van has AC, not many do.

I like the overall design but that water piping on electrical side giving me some jitters. Water... Pressurized.. no matter how the joints are connected.. will always leak when you least expected. Removal of the batteries for replacement will be a little cumbersome with that water pipe lines above.

You are THE MAN. I can't believe you didn't lose your voice after all that explaining. Lots of great information here and it's obvious you guys have really thought things out. It's impressive and inspiring. One question though: don't you get a lot of voltage drop on the cable from the alternator all the way back to your DC-DC charger? That seems like a long run (even with what looks like 00 welding cable which has to be pricey for that length...)

Great design! Couple suggested tweaks: simplify water distribution lines/connections at water tank area, improve maintenance access to water heater, redirect water lines away from above batteries, make "dog leash" storage box garage easily removable to increase rear van carrying flexibility (bikes/kayaks etc.), relocate shower rearward, replace with dual seat (w seat belts), add overhead shelf above front seats, add insulated/heated grey water tank (4 season, many sites require contained waste water), use Ford Transit AWD 3.5 litre EcoBoost platform. That would be near perfect for me. 😉👍 Indeed, you've created a very intelligent and well thought out van! Well done!

I agree with everything EXCEPT running these types of water pipes and connections over an electrical system. That is a really big deal. But could be fixed in this case by putting that section of pipes inside an enclosure so leaks would then go either side of the cupboard that contains the electrics. As electrics are often the most expensive part of a build, the repercussions could cost well into the thousands for a poorly designed pipe route. I think criticism of this aspect is very valid and a good learning point for future builds. But it is a beautiful build - especially loved that shower.

  • @burstmedia1829

@@shaidenvalentine1 This is a beautiful conversion but if you didn't want feedback, why allow comments? This is how you-tube works. And I think those you criticized the running of water pipes over an electrical system without running through an additional enclosure have a VERY VALID point which your can fix (because yes many people would consider this a flaw, not just a different design opinion like most issues mentioned here) and so that more thoughtful design happens regarding water/electrics situational design is something you can improve on in the future. But it is a very beautiful and generally well thought out van and something to be proud of.

Some points on the grey water. 1. It drains to the ground so no tank smell. 2. He said it’s your option to install a tank. 3. A screen is a good idea, but one that lets food particles get through. 4. You can not drain grey water onto the ground legally in Canada, and certain national parks in the USA ban it, so figuring out a drain tank in the design is a good idea.

Beautiful build, please support those water lines in the electrical area. My god... so much work and money in that area. PEX is great but you are really throwing the dice with the lengths of pipe and those 90 degree AP adapters with any vibration that happens. They are not designed to an automotive grade on there own like that. Over time your hot water line will sag and that Adapter will fail, your pump will click on and off very slowly "hopefully not when you sleeping!" humidity will rise, fuses will blow. Easy add on to secure it though, just build some supportive framing for the water lines, secure them every 8 inches along the frame, use some sort of vibration dampener "water line insulation foam" especially around the joints, good to go!

Particle board doesn't like a lot of movement so hopefully the owner stays on pavement. I like a van with a dedicated shower and toilet. Plumbing and electrical are two of the most complex pieces of a van conversion. Having a water leak in the electrical box would be a disaster, I would have liked to see them separated. @@shaidenvalentine1 Hi! I would have liked to see a lock on the exterior water fill to prevent some weirdo from fooling with the water supply. I loved your love of technical aspects of a van build though.

I love this build. I would only change 2 things. I would block off the cab with a wall that has a pocket door, and I would have a hydraulic bed over the dinette. Then, the dinette could be a secondary bed when you have guests if you don't drop the hydraulic bed all the way down.

IS the water from your AC system actually feeding back into your drinking/shower/dishwater system? Seems like it could have stagnant water sitting is what we used to call swamp coolers back in the day, going back into your "clean' water. I also agree about a locked door or system for your water access--sad that we can no longer trust people not to mess with stuff anymore. Thoughts like this never crossed our minds when camping in unlocked tents and campsites in the pre-90s!! Now you have to think about how people can mess with your safety and belongings anymore just for sport and their entertainment!!

I didn't understand that, either. That water in the swamp cooler is a bacteria breeding ground. It should be draining in to a waste tank, not back into your water supply.

There is no SECURITY for the fresh water fill. Do NOT run water lines through the electrical compartment, even though it may be allowable! Very nice build and presentation.

Great video! The water and pipes was kinda confusing, but you went over everything leaving nothing untouched which is great, I got lost when you talked about the gravity fed and the water fill was! I just thought you use a water hose and fill! Of course I don't know much but this is actually the best build I have ever seen! Love the shower! You put alot of work into this build and it's shows❤️

That’s exactly what I thought I would want that under lock and key so some crazy person doesn’t wanna dump something stupid in it or P in it or anything of that sort. Relatively easy fix though.

I love this van build but I’d also love a pocket door between the cabin and living area...excellent build...yeah I’d need hot water on demand water heater. Could you use a telescoping table so you don’t need to remove it to build the bed? So you could probably raise the bed for taller under bed storage too.

I have to say that the van looks great. But, all of that gets thrown out the window once you run water lines over electrical. That’s the best way to burn 10k. Once I saw the water lines over the electrical, my next thoughts were “can I really trust their judgement on everything else in this vehicle?”

Love the van, excellent job, maybe and I say this in a constructive way, look for an alternative route for your water supply, the hot cold elbows above all the electrics is a little concerning, nothing may ever happen, or maybe constructive a catch tray with drain just below the pipes if you can't re route the pipes, other than that it's a fab van build
