Luxor City tour. How to travel? Where to go? Egypt tour among giant Memnon statues
On our Egypt tour, we discover the history-filled city of Luxor, Egypt. How to travel? Where to go? Watch. We visit the Colossi of Memnon, giant statues of Momnon from the ancient Egyptian period. The city of Luxor is a city built on ruins and historical ruins. This is why it is also referred to as the world's largest open air museum. It is said that there are still unexplored remains under the ground. Even when we were there, a new ancient city was being excavated on the west bank.
The city of Luxor consists of two different sides, east and west. The east side is the main residential city area, the west side is mostly the undeveloped peasant side. We saw abundant banana trees and sugar cane fields in agricultural lands. You can drink natural sugarcane juice.
Luxor was used as the capital during the ancient Egyptian period. For this reason, many historical temples, tombs, etc. around this city. There is quite a lot of Ancient Egyptian period artifacts among Aswan Luxor. Visiting all of these historical places is a bit of a challenge. We agreed with a local tour company as it would be more expensive by private car. By paying 250 EGP (Egyptian money), we joined the two-person tourist group. Our trip, which started at 8.30 in the morning, lasted until 20.00 in the evening. We visited six historical places in total. We did a city tour in between. Lunch break and alabaster facilities were included in this tour on our trip.
In our group, there were other people from Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. When the Arab majority in the group were Arab, our conversations were about Turkey and Turkish TV series, apart from the history of ancient Egypt. Arabs watch lots of Turkish movies and learn a little Turkish. The ideal of all of them is to come to Turkey at the earliest opportunity and especially to visit Istanbul.
Since Luxor is 3-4 hours away from the touristic Hurghada coastal city, tourists coming here for vacation come back to the city of Luxor on a daily basis by visiting historical places. Besides, there is not much to see except Ancient Egyptian history. People who are interested in history also go and come to Aswan.
We went to Aswan from Cairo and then came to Luxor. Afterwards, we will go to Hurghada and stay there for 3-4 days and return to Istanbul.
We stayed at Nefertiti hotel in Luxor city. We paid 20 USD per night including breakfast for two people to the hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect. Walking distance to Luxor temple in the center of the city. We recommend.
There is not much to do in Luxor city other than wandering the Ancient Egyptian history trail. You can take a boat ride on the Nile. You can visit the limestone and marble houses on the west side. You can buy souvenirs made of alabaster (water marble) called alabaster. Alabaster is a finely rough type of limestone used mainly for ornaments and sculpture. It is similar to marble after processing. It is light-permeable in its natural state and is white in color, and there are also artificially colored ones. It is made translucent by giving heat. Available in products made of different stones. You can buy souvenirs by visiting the Bazaar in the city center on the east side. We don't need to remind you anymore. Whatever you buy, don't forget to bargain.

Krallar vadisi uzakta. Araçla yarım saatte varılabilir. Diğer yerlerde Krallar vadisine giden yol üzerindedir. Hotelden bilgi alabilirsiniz.
