Why YOU Should Visit Luxor? Egypt
Is Luxor safe to visit? What are the hotels like? What can I visit?
In this video, I will give you my guide to why you should visit Luxor!
Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in southern Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs’ capital at the height of their power, during the 16th-11th centuries B.C. Today's city surrounds 2 huge, surviving ancient monuments: graceful Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple, a mile north. The royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens are on the river’s west bank.

Thank you so much for your excellent videos. It's been so good I've decided to join. Like you, my son has always had dreams of visiting Loxor and the Tombs I've shared your travels with him and he really loved them. You seem to know where to go and you give pointers on things to do and not to do. Take Care be safe.

Wow. Was that really £1k for 3 nights? You should have gone to the Winter Palace where Howard Carter always stayed. That is luxury that you can afford!

£1k for Luxor is so much. I’ve stayed in many of the Luxor East Bank hotels & have paid nothing close to that. I’m in Luxor currently as my husband is from here & as a Brit when you’re with an Egyptian your experience is very different. No one tries to sell me a thing.
I used to watch this channel on my own to relax once kids were finally in bed, but now its become a channel the whole family want to watch, and theirs really nothing else that we ALL enjoy. Keep doing what you do. Tim, please never stop 😂💙

I wasn’t keen to go but my husband desperately wanted to and eventually wore me down. We travelled with a company known in the UK for looking after “older” travellers and I was absolutely awestruck at what we saw. You have to see it to believe it. Yes there was security everywhere and yes the locals were pushy but travelling in company with a guide gave us protection. A must see destination.
He gave you that 5 Egypt dollars because its a piece of history , i mean look at the bill , its all nice and clean. Real work of art ❤

It would look nice framed as a reminder of that moment, and be worth much more for the memories. It's UK value seems to be about 8 pence.
I am pretty poor and do not travel so your videos fill me up with great info and experiences. I love how meticulously your describe everything. It helps those of us that cant be there- to feel like we have been.
Seeing you in Egypt ment a lot to me it was my mums last holiday before she passed so good to see you walking where she walked Thank you 💜

Feels like we were right there along with you...because we were 😂. We were in the same balloon segment as you! Lovely to have some quality footage of the flight as that video you could pay for was pretty rubbish. And so weird that we travelled so far and still ended up with someone from Norfolk - me and my sister (also in the video) grew up in Winterton 😅
I loved Egypt when I went in June 2007. Was nice and hot - high 30s to 40 degrees so I felt like I was back home in Perth, Western Australia, which I had been away from for over two years. It was like another world, which is quite interesting, as I have heard that there may be extra-terrestrials responsible for building the pyramids - I wouldn't be surprised. I did a Nile cruise which was great! I should have paid the extra to do a 5 star cruise but I thought 4 star would be fine. A few teething problems at the start but it turned out alright so I didn't regret it. I spent a few days in Cairo and that was an eye-opening experience. I went to Hurghada for 4 days on the Red Sea and managed to relax and feed fish just in from the shoreline as well as go on a boat dive. I found the people to be very authentic, friendly and accommodating. One guy in Cairo started a conversation and when he knew I was looking to buy bananas he took me down some side streets to find them. I would never have found them otherwise. He owned a perfume/scent shop and took me there and gave me a drink. We chatted for about an hour and he showed me pictures of him with some well-known people. I bought some male and female scents which I found excellent. You only needed a small dab and it lasted ages. Would love to go back again one day...
This is the one country that I really want to visit in my lifetime. My parents did a Nile cruise years ago and absolutely loved it. They said the boat and staff were wonderful. I just wanted to say that your photography walking in to the tombs was amazing and made me feel like I was walking there along with you. I dont know what camera you used on the end of that stick but its doing a great job. Thank you x

Do not have ice in your drinks ! Only bottled water. Salads also risky . Eat only hot food.

Fro someone born in the tropics and spent years living in parts of the Middle East, that is the correct recommendation to stop diarrhea and stomach upsets: NO ice, NO salads, consume fruit only that you have washed ( or seen washed ) and stick to cooked foods wherever possible.
@ghamandlupin

Why does the ice make you poorly?
@hatchling88
Ай бұрын
@@ghamandlupin Ice in some countries, Egypt is one example, is not necessarily made from purified water. It may be made from tap water which can be contaminated with pathogens. People who live in those countries are used to the water and can tolerate it.. they may have gut bugs which can neutralize the pathogens. Westerners don't and can become very ill.

my friend from egypt went to luxor fpr the first time and she also visited aswan and then she went back to her mom’s birthplace and she will go to mecca she is saudi-egyptian and i am from iran and iraq but i am sunni
I have visited Luxor I was SHOCKED! 😁
The ice in your drinks can be a problem in places like that. Might be that which gives you a bad tummy.

I visited Luxor during a Week's cruise along the Nile as a kid. Now I'm finishing my BA in Egyptology and was at a premier for a new exhibition I helped with The trip really gave me the love for Egypt that I've kept ever since! It's wonderful to see you filming some of the areas I've been studying for 3 years - I've literally been translating a papyrus that records the first strike in history. It mentions how the workers who build the tombs of the Valley of the Kings walked to the back of the mortuary temples that you flew over. After my Masters that I'll start later this year, I hope to travel to luxor to really put my studies to the test!
Love that you’re doing more than just hotels!
Hello from Nee Zealand Tim, look forward to you coming here. My cruise down the Nile and trip to Egypt was the best trip of my life, unfortunately was 45° Celsius and really quite unbearable heat, but still worth every moment. Will def go back in April when its cooler. I never got bad belly when all my companions did. I stayed away from anything with water/ice. No salad washed in water, only bottled water, only hot food and probably about 2 tonne of pastires and desserts. I found that staying away from all non bottled water was the key, even when brushing my teeth I used bottled water Thank you Tim, you have literally allowed me to relive so many special moments I had. I love watching you and your travels but this one was just a little more special ❤
Yes you should visit the Luxor, Egypt there is so much history to see!
Wow wow Tim … that was an amazing look at places I’ll never be able to see for myself.. thank you for a fantastic experience .. love watching all you create for us 👏❤️🙋🏻♀️
Tim, are you aware that 10 years ago the Egyptian government paid half a million dollars to construct an Identical Copy of King Tuts Tomb very near the original for all the Tourists to visit and the original is only visited by VIPs. And they DON'T tell you that it's a COPY. It was done to preserve the original as it was getting damaged by all the tourists.

Visited Luxor with my mum 13 years ago. It was an experience. I visited the VOK, boat ride on the nile, visited cleopatras home, basically everything. How ever the Egyptian men (not all but must) were horrendous to me and my mum, luckily I'm a fiesty woman, and got us out of a few tricky situations (harrasing us for money) the air balloon was my highlight, I would love to visit again as the woman I am now, but will be taking my husband as it will be a better experience. I really hope you enjoyed your time
