Bacon's book has a good explanation, with the math for straight pipes megaphones and double ended chambers. you are on the right path with with using the concept of the pressure wave I am surprised you are still allowed to have a chainsaw in the UK but it looks like you live rural Keep up the good work from an Stihl 066 owner

Hi Henry yes there's no rules on chainsaws here, it's just a tool, thanks for the positive comments, I just love experimenting power mods.

How to build a short expansion chamber that looks like a standard muffler Works very well gives good power and allows the saw to be used as normal.

I am basically a newer subscriber recently and I have seen your dyno which was quite impressive so I expect to look for another one of your videos here shortly showing test results with your muffler mod, isn't it quite interesting as you can alter your designs how you want and test them to find just the right fabrication design that suits your desire. Very good video

Very nice. Subbed based on just what you've said on this 1 video. Most exhaust mods are based on more noise equals more better.

Sounds great I watch dyno Joe, it will be interesting to learn some more about your pipes, its a bit of a dark art building a good pipe that's not a big expansion chamber.

How much did it effect your jetting!
@marklutwyche8578

Quite a bit. Jetting had to be ajusted to get the best, it had more power, nice and crisp, I'm doing another one soon as I'm in the middle of a simular build but I've got a new design in mind then I'm going to dyno test it with a free flow muffler and then this new one .

@lyf45mo I really don't know, but the fuel system is designed to work on a standard chainsaw, so really I have no idea weather it will be able to re ajust fuelling correctly, I have a sthil ms 362 c which had fuel injection m, tronic, which I do not like as it complicates the engine especially if you want to do power mods, so I've modified mine back to normal carburettor as it's better for modifications.
