Lupe is so brainy. Even his dope is brainy. All his riddles and word play is dope. As a fan of him, I must say, he doesn't deliver much feeling. Like if Lupe was tasked to make Dear Momma. He gone make Dear Matriach. He raps at his IQ, and that's what he is proud of. But everyone feels and that what Kendrick can do much better. Capture emotions, even if you got to leave out a riddle or two. Make it feel more like a human experience. I felt like ain't nobody praying for me by Kendrick felt like something Lupe would do... but Lupe don't make songs feel like that. They think like that. Control felt like what he was saying. It wasn't amazing lyrics. It was the gun in your mouth feeling of it

He spent his career hating on rappers, mocking their style when he should've rocked with them and contribute to the rap game. He is just more lyrical than most, but in terms of impact, his bars dont hit like Kendrick's, he may be more lyrical bit that's really just it. Drake is a rapper with ghostwriting allegations tied to his name, and has multiple reference tracks out there, but Lupe.. being the great lyricist that he is, never brings that up. Why is that?

And in my opinion and the commercial opinion he is sonically better as well. Lupe is probably one of the best lyricists ever though but that is one sole aspect of the game.

Bro I'm gonna assume your either young or you only listen to your personal favorite rappers and don't really know about other rappers like this , lupe fiasco came directly at kendrick lamar in response to the control verse , the song is called SLR 2 , lupe didn't do all the fast rap junk (which he can easily do and does often ) but he came with straight bars consistent bars and double entendres mixed with extended metaphors. People think kdots pen is so hype and kendrick is nice but if we are being 10000% honest no one is really even close to lupe when it comes to pure lyrical ability , there's a whole SLR series where the whole shits are just extended metaphors and double entandres so to most people it just sounds like words to them . Kendrick is a damn superior artist and no one will ever take that away, his live performances and videos are crazy artistic .....lyrically though he's miles and miles behined lupe, but really so is everyone else . Artistically lupe can't even come close to kendrick in my opinion.....I just hate when people act like no one's come at Kenny EVERYONE fired back on Kenny and Kenny vanished on us for 4 years instead of responding .
