I am using a cavesson to lunge and found the end of this video extremely helpful. I am using this method without a bit or bridle and it is going so much better than I had expected. Thank you again for this video!

Excellent video. I hadn't lunged in years and wanted to show my neice how to lunge her pony. This video was a great reminder and gave me some new points too. Thank for putting your content on YT. 🇮🇪

This was good. The only thing I might add is: with equipment, include a helmet. Young or fresh horses may rear, kick etc., and your head needs protection.

Thank you for the spectacular lesson I am a Sophomore equine business management major at Johnson Wales University I'm sure you've heard of that University. And I am learning on how to lunge a horse with a lunch line I have done some free lunging in a paddock without a lunch line which is a step in my opinion but yes I agree with what you're saying but does that all apply to even lunging a STALLION as well.🙏🐴❤️

thanks for the video. @13:43 it would have been great to have this exact movement shown (aka moving from standing into the triangle). i am lunging (re-training) a 7 year old who was never trained with correct cues and the current issue i'm having is we just go in tight circles (he comes into my space). Today will be Day 3... i'm wondering with consistency, if this will just get better or if there is any tricks with body language or tools you can show. thanks!

Was thinking the same thing. My horse just stands, doesn’t move forward and looks at me as if to say what are you doing?

I like all your explanation, but my arm and whip position is different. I only have one arm up to point in the direction. The whip arm is down. My whip is behind me, turned away from the horse. I use the whip only if needed and don’t use it as a constant pressure tool.

Why did you cut out the part where you start the horse moving? That's the most confusing part of it. Seems rather sus you cut that part out.

Sorry, but I feel that liberty longing is way less challenging to the animal. As soon as she is effectively moving on the line, just get rid of it. No Cavesson, no ropes or bridles or halters...just you and your body language, and your horse getting to understand what you are asking her to do.
