A few years ago employees at the Dallas World Aquarium used a slurry of peanut butter & saltwater as jellyfish food, just to see if they could make Peanut Butter and Jellyfish. It worked surprisingly well, with the jellies reportedly “thriving” on the mixture!

I hope there is eventually a video on the history of Lofty Pursuits. Also, looking forward to a post-storm update. (Looks like Tallahassee isn’t getting the direct hit that was expected as the eye turned toward Cedar Key instead.)
I never been big on peanut butter sandwiches of any kind but those candies is definitely something I want to try out.

Marshmallow Fluff is made in New England and my native friends tell me it's a staple (unknown to me until I moved east). As usual, the process is fascinating. Yes, the intern is doing a bang up job.
I just love how old machines and tools are build to survive several apocalyptic events
This just makes me think of one of my grandpa's favorite sandwiches, peanut butter and pickle
If it wasn’t in the high 90s in our state currently I’d be ordering bags of this in a heartbeat. Once September rolls around I might give it a shot. PB sandwiches are my ultimate comfort food
I love your polished narration, you have a great voice and you make history alive again. It's also super mesmerizing watching these awesome folks making the candy. Such a fun crew! 💚🙏🕊
I could listen to Greg tell a story all day long and never get bored or tired. This is one of the best channels on KZread (and so underrated, deserves a lot more than just 580K subscribers), and I think at least 50% of it is due to Greg being the story teller.
this look so fun. i would love to be an apprentice in your shop
That kid really likes the drippin!
If they make fluff that tastes like circus peanuts and make a sandwich with that and jelly, would that be circus peanut butter and jelly?
Such a shame the shipping is prohibitive :) still fondly remember the humbugs i got a couple years ago.

@@mmmhorsesteaks yeah that's not a lot we can do about it. It's pretty affordable of you live in the USA. I will tell you that you're probably paying for a kilogram of candy even if you're only buying 100 g worth. I was halfway expecting ng coin shaped candies, but all these flavors sound great. I grew up with peanut butter and jelly, or peanut butter & mashed banana sandwiches, and we might get the occasional fluffernutter once in a while. Now I'm putting bananas, jelly, and marshmallow fluff on the grocery list to go with my peanut butter. My mom used to make peanut butter sandwiches for me with homemade apple butter, that was sure a treat!
I had coworker that said this place was amazing. I really want to go
It occurs to me that Greg must be living his childhood dreams.
@loftypursuits There are some beautiful shots in this video. I've missed the videos for the past couple months, Greg. It's good to hear you again.
Just got mine this week. Yummy!
Recently got an order from y'all with a variety of hard candies. Everything was delicious!
The thumbnail looks like homie is holding an absolute GLOBBER of a dab
It's a testament to the quality of the manufacturing of that candy making machine. It works as good as ever when its been in use for 153 years.

good timing 😂. Just yesterday I checked the channel to see if a new video had been uploaded
Just got my lunch money in the mail today!
Those look amazing but you're missing the best peanut butter sandwich combo, peanut butter and honey! I wonder if you could get drop rollers shaped like bread slices? They would look so cute for these as well as for a pastry or breakfast themed collection.
I like how some Louis Prima is playing in the background.
🏃💨 great timing! I love anything with peanut butter, but especially a fluffernutter and my 35th birthday is September 21st! Happy anniversary!
Good luck with the storm!
Awesome Video Lofty Pursuits🙂
the thumbnail makes it look like the yall dropped hardest rap song on candy
1:52 when he picks it up it looks like an upside down piece of toast with jelly on it
Love the camera work with the molten sugar
I always adore watching you use the old candy presses. And being from Mass. I am proud to hear you talk about Bean-Town. I would like to add to the Fluffernuter conversation that “Fluff” is a brand, which (btw) is difficult to find outside of New England. You can however find “marshmallow cream” in other parts of the country. I know this directly from personal experience when my husband and I lived in the DC area we would have my mother ship us certain things that are impossible to find outside Mass. (And for my husband Fluff was at the top of the list. )
Never been a PB+J sandwich fan, but I'm sure it works better as a candy than my go to sandwich of Ham + Cheese 😂
My favorite sandwich for school was a peanut butter and put crushed lays chips on it. Sweet and salt, with a bit of crunch
Greg, we’re watching the hurricane coverage and our hearts are with you and everyone in Tallahassee and all the affected areas.

Why did it take me years to get the "public displays of confection" joke lmao thats so clever
Just ordered some of these. Been very curious on how the peanut butter correlates to candy
Couldn't stop myself had to order four batches
Seeing this title on my homepage had me imagine that two scoops of shaken 7th graders went into the making of every bite of this product XD
Audible gasp when you said "Fluffernutter!" Anyone who says "Fluff is just marshmallow cream" has very obviously NOT ever had Fluff.
We only got Fluff when we went camping with our dad - peanutbutter and fluffernutter
Zeitgeist, the word of the day.
I would sign up for a flavor of the month, with a reoccurring charge, in a heartbeat. Set it up and Ill be the first to sign up...
Fluffernutter!!!! Even with shipping to Canada doubling the price it might be worth it
this look like what I did in Salt Lake batch roller and heat above to keep it soft
This is fantastic, I gotta order some of these. I'm a fan of the marshmallow flavour but I've never had it in any sort of drop or image candy, so I'm quite curious about that one. Have you ever done a candy that's just marshmallow flavour?

Does pulling candy substantially increase its volume? How much candy can you make from the same weight, pulled and unpulled?
@LoftyPursuits
11 ай бұрын
We've never really measure the extra volume but the bags look bigger. Remember we sell by weight so you just got a bigger bag if we pull it a lot
Every time I hear that, I think 'Are you sure?'. Because a small round piece of anything is a drop, whether you drop it or not.
Nothing says "back to school lunch" quite like not being able to eat lunch, because of your peanut allergy.
My mom called peanut butter & banana sandwiches "mousemeat sandwiches", because the bananas would turn grey, like little mice. You can imagine the reaction when we'd innocently ask other people for a mousemeat sandwich.
Hi Greg! Loving the new camerawork, i would just suggest you try playing the "drip" shots at 0.8x for a little extra drama. Nothing crazy slomo, but it'll exaggerate the dripping 👌
In the sixties the was a hard candy that was sold with a coin in it.
Greg first time commenting but I want to see you YOU make ginger flavored candy it would be a treat please
What happens to all the connective candy between the drops? Surely this isn't thrown away? Is it all thrown in a kettle, heated until the connective is tacky enough to stick to the larger pieces or something? Or perhaps all sifted for rock candy?

Grandmothers everywhere, rejoice
Can you guys make a vanilla hard candy???

These candies look like the candies Greg made with chocolate
Fun fact: I live in Florida :) so I could visit one day
So I know this is probably a silly question, but would it be safe to consume the candy while its still warm and malleable, before the process of rolling it into small strips to then be turned into hard candy pieces?

Are the vintage machines rare? Can you find them in a museum or are spare parts easily available. Can new parts be machined?

They are rare although I have tracked down a lot of them. New parts can be machined and that's why I have purchased a machine shop over the years. I'm actually about to do a video showing me restoring a machine. I'm hoping for it to be up this week. Part of the 30th anniversary celebrations.
Oh good! I’m surprised it’s not too hot and humid for candymaking. Peanut butter and jelly shouldn’t be brown. It should be tan and purple!
I am allergic to peanuts in my mid 30’s! I miss it can I eat these and be fine ?
