Lunar Eclipse Lunar vs Stellar apparent Motion

Ғылым және технология

Did a couple of hours of video in LRGB (4 filters) on 5/15/22 into 5/16/22 of the full Blood Moon eclipse from north Georgia.
The length and totality of the eclipse surprised me vs. the January, 2019 Blood Moon in that stars were obviously visible around the Moon.
Interestingly, over about an hour it was easy to note the difference in the apparent motion of the Moon vs. the background stars. Not a movement you can typically see with the naked eye but we've all wondered at some point why the moon seems to retrograde and come up later and later as the month progresses.
Well now I know more than I did and I hope you find it interesting as well. Or not... :)
