It really speaks volumes how charismatic and generally brilliant Ellen, Luke, and the team are that Show of Weekend has dropped all pretence of being a video game show and has maintained such a loyal fandom.

Yep. The reason most of us watch Oxtra isn't for the content or anything but just for Luke and Ellen. There was a conversation on a comment for the snap episode that we'd probably even find it entertaining watching them do something like their taxes.

I adore how the show has turned into Ellen and Luke do random stuff they enjoy and everyone else just needs to shut up and ride along. 5/5 stars no notes.

The king’s greatest warriors begin their heroic journey to save the kingdom. Upon meeting their first foe, one immediately biffs it on their horse and gets stabbed, and the other subsequently drives himself insane. 10/10, no notes. This episode made my day! Absolutely brilliant; looking forward to future entries in the hilarious failings of Warrior and Wizard.

"Published in 1984" "Oh no, it's crumbled into dust!" ...same.

Luke's acting and Ellen's miming the spells/weapons is gold. This longer episode was such a treat. But man, I forgot how unforgiving these books could be. Now Luke is gonna write his Warrior/Wizard fanfiction.

I truly would be so pleased if Oxtra just had a whole little series about Ellen and Luke reading choose your own adventure books. Maybe for their Hallowstreams they could even read one of the Goosebump choose your own adventures (which I remember being wild)

This is not only a Presh Memory of 2022, but also a watershed episode for Show of the Weekend, IMO. This affirms SoTW is a legit variety show not dependent on video game content that can stand on its own, thanks largely due to the undeniable chemistry between Luke & Ellen. I thoroughly enjoyed Luke's Gothic Horror readings. I now know I need an Ellen's Fantasy readings, but with Luke doing some like Mystery Science Theater 3000 commentary along the readings they do not always need to be "choose your own adventure" But i am all for it!

I didn't think any other SOTW could beat the Pokémon magazine episodes but oh boy I am so down for this series!

I hope in the new year they bring this back because man it was amazing funny and really brings out both their theater

I had one of the books in this series when I was a little tacker, and the one I had was written by RL Stine as well. Hell of a nostalgia shot to see one of these books on SotW.

It's been a month since we last heard from the wizard and warrior... I fear that the murderous ghosts of Camelot have won. Makeout rock is achingly deserted, lonely, forlorn without the beautiful love between the wizard and warrior. Ellen, Luke, please don't let the scout (who died to warn the king) perish in vain! And what of all those peasants working the fields?! Must they now work under a new, slightly more tyrannical ghostly rulers? We must have answers. We need hope. Please.

Please can we have an on-screen Wizard Deaths counter from next episode.

Choose your own adventure? This'll be great. Let's hope we don't get dysentery and die!

the fact that its mid july and we're still waiting on a sequel is a crime!!

I just realized that this show is my new "Saturday Morning Cartoons".

Is this still going to be an ongoing thing or have you guys decided not to continue? I really hope you do continue. This was a lot of fun. Although at this point (months after initially watching the video), I might need to re-watch this video to refresh my memory of the story so far, lol. That or please make sure to do a “Previously on Show of the Weekend” story recap.

Oh man! Instant childhood flashbacks! My uncle gave me all his "Choose Your Adventure" books when I was little. Loved them so much. I'm so grateful my uncle introduced me to fantasy and sci fi, he turned me into a full geek.

Confirmed! "Wizards, Warriors and You: Choose Your Own Oxventure" has been commissioned for a full season.

Aw man, I loved these Choose Your Own Adventure books when I was a kid in the 80s... then I discovered video games :P

Borrowed one of the Fighting Fantasy books from a public library around 2010. Seeing my interest, I was shown my dad's collections of many books. For about 5 years, Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone were my favourite authors.

The canon of this England is wild. Mordred is an ally of the other knights, they died "over 100 years ago" at the time of King Henry's reign, Lancelot can see in total darkness for some reason.

I clicked on this video thinking it was a book Luke had written. Never seen a SOTW episode before (I like the lists and oxventures) and I can't stop laughing at the constant flood of thinly veiled dick jokes.

"You're a full arsenal" made me lose it 😂

I really want the next episode of this one.

I’m almost certain i’ve had The Wind and/or Merlin’s Fire before, after a particularly hot curry!! Brilliant stuff though guys 😂

As someone who grew up with the offical Dragonriders of Pern choose-your-own-adventure as my main source of fanfiction ideas (McCaffrey’s distain for them be cursed to a pit in the abyss), this does my heart good. And now my spouse and I are sourcing some for some fun. Also I haven’t encountered a spear innuendo like that since “Gil-Galad wields a well-made spear”, thank you Tolkien.

Just here adding my support to someone else’s suggestion that after Luke has gone through as the wizard, Ellen needs to hand the book to him and have a go as the warrior.

Video idea: obvious mistakes that shouldn’t have made it past Quality assurance. For example, Nights of azure it has a trophy that has the main protagonists name wrong and another which has the main antagonists name wrong

Another great Show of the Weekend. I love these videos because we get to see Luke and Ellen (and other Oxtra members) on a more personal level. I think we'll be having a Show of the Weekend crossover with Dicebreaker.
