I’ve seen Luka play since his Real Madrid days. I don’t know about the technical aspect of the game but even I could tell this kid was special. I remember watching an interview with the Spanish YT channel Colgados del Aro, the covers ACB and Euroleague, sharing the video with a friend and telling her to remember his name. It wasn’t just about his game, but the way he conducted himself.

Lukas been playing with 4 different injuries most of the playoffs and had he been healthy Dallas would've dominated this playoffs even more. Anyone that thought the trade deadline Mavericks couldn't beat these team's clearly don't know ball. The only missing pieces LuKai needed was one more big and a 3 and D defender and they got a absolute stud in PJ Washington. The thing is, if you're suddenly watching Luka in the playoffs thinking he's taken a step up, you're not paying attention. He's doing what he always does, it's just the role players are stepping up. Luka dragged the Mavs through the season and luckily the likes of Washington, Jones Jr., Gafford and Lively are rising to the occassion.

Ant was not better than Joker in the last series, his team was.

Luka Doncic has more GOAT potential than every other active player. He won the scoring title and is 1st all-NBA five years in a row, and is second only to Michael Jordan in playoff points per game in NBA history, which is huge. And he is only 25.

Can't compare across eras though. MJ played in an era where it was more difficult to score, offensive stats are inflated due to playing style and rules changes to favor the offense. What Luka is doing is amazing nonetheless but MJ is still the superior player at the same age.

Bro u cant tell me jokic first mvp shouldnt of been lukas and this last one. But that first 1 luka averaged more points asst and similar rebs but finished 2 spots ahead of Denver for seeding, luka won all his head to heads with all mvp candidates and did this with a brand new coach that year with a mid season roster change trading injury prone porzingis.

STEPHEN A's formula is the louder he is the more you'll listen to him. It has had the opposite effect on sane people.

@@soraandthegang1066 Advanced stats are nice and all, but there's no other point in league history where someone averages Luka's stat line & doesn't win MVP. Now he's the only one of the top 3 MVP candidates still in contention for a ring (Joker, Shai, Luka), the Mavs have been the underdogs in every series, and have also had to face 2 of the 3 best teams in the West (including the 1 seed). Series isn't over yet, but I think the fact Dallas is even still competing speaks volumes.

I'll be honest. I've never watched the NBA seriously and decided to watch this years play-offs following the mavs because I feel in love with Kyrie's handles. At first I had the preconcieved idea that Luka was great and insane with clutch shots and his step back, but felt that maybe his tripple doubles were inflated thanks to "this era of basketball" and that he was a big big flopper. All I can say is that the more I watch every single game, the more I see how the media literally ignores him or how the bad traits I've stated before are greatly exagerated. This man should have been in the discussion of MVP every single year of his carreer in a more prominent fashion. I can only hope they make it even further in the play-offs this year so the public eye gives him more credit

Who else in the Western Conference Finals can say that ? With every team you have designed roles. Truthfully, in order to win a championship, everyone should be doing the”dirty work”. That includes the players who score. Remember, Michael Jordan was not just offense. He was on the “All Defensive Team” as well. Michael was going to score on his man as well as shut down the scoring potential of his assigned player.

Markieff Morris man.. he found his role as the vet who everyone in the team listens to.

Old school American coaches went to Europe and taught them the right ways, they respected it and it shows.

To be fair, Anthony Edwards and the wolves are extremely good and performed extremely well this season. They showed that they were capable of doing great things, but they weren’t quite consistent enough with it. Also the matchups against Dallas were very rough for us. We thought the wolves bigs were the best pair in the league, but they really couldn’t keep up with gafford and lively. Rooting for Dallas in the finals though 😢
