They won't. First round it was kawhi being hurt and clippers having to rely on PG and Harden. It wasn't the mavs' defense. 2nd round it was the Thunders inexperience and them just missing shots they typically make. Not the mavs defense. Now it's pretty much the same with the Wolves. Just like they didn't give Dallas' defense any credit in 2011 for beating Miami. They just said it was LeBron coming up small in the finals, despite him playing well in every other round prior to that.

You’re dragging it. Logan was too high on ant. Carson and Jason still took Luka. Also ANT was playing on that level and has completely fallen off in this series.

With regards to Luka’s health, this started in March. He’s nowhere near 100%, but the knee by and large has been manageable particularly when he gets any rest. In rounds 1 and 2 he was fine until he took a shot to knee. He looked like this the 1st 6 minutes of game 1 in OKC. Then he tripped over Dort and his shot/movement immediately went to shit. Getting those 3 days off was massive, and to this point 🤞 he hasn’t suffered a major fall on that right knee. The left (hell and right) knee bleeding through his leggings first happened in SAC and again the next game in HOU late March. Not only have people under-appreciated the degree to which his knee is an issue, they don’t realize the knee is only a fraction of what he’s dealing with. Right knee, left knee, ankle, Achilles soreness (since like January), back (although that should be fine now). None of it began in the playoffs though.

Overreaction. Ant is a 22 year old kid that many crowned too early. He's not the guy yet and he is going through the normal geowing pains that a young player typically goes through. On this stage, the 2 best players plays for Dallas. Ant will play better, but no one should be disappointed.

Absolutely right. I’ve been saying to people that Minnesotas strength is their overall team (not Edwards) for a while now. Half the time they look better when Edwards is on the bench, and there are many stretches where if you watch them you would never guess that he’s their best player. Switch Edwards with Luka and Minnesota may have swept the playoffs.

I'm rooting for Dallas, but why does the NBA media have to blame someone after every loss? Can't we look at the game with a little more nuance? Also, can't we celebrate the winning team? Why does everything have to be someone's "fault"? I think it's just perpetuating an ugly discourse that doesn't need to exist.

It’s half of an analyst’s job. If a good thing happens, analyze that. If a bad thing happens, analyze that. For every single positive thing that happened to one team, an equally negative thing happened to the other team. Edit: But you’re kinda right tho. Ant's cardio is definitely an issue! There's a difference between great NBA shape and, being in "good young shape." Ant was tired during a few games of the Denver series, specifically 5 and 7, and he's showing major fatigue now.He will learn, grow and get better. All the "new MJ" labels are way too premature!

MIN is big… they are not physical. Rudy and KAT don’t intimidate anybody physically. Especially not actual dogs like PJ/DJJ/Gafford or killers like Luka/Kyrie. The Mavs have absolutely whipped their ass physically in both games.

Don't know if that's exactly fair. Minnesota can't create dominant separation. Dallas has the best closer.

i think rudy does a good job. but i still think swing gamble for minnesota is to have naz and kat both on the floor. they can stand their ground without rudy on defense, but this might heat up their offense. they really have to adress the weird naz and kat minutes thing. i think you have to reduce the roster to one of them. and try to find a flexible forward option that is capable of smallball 5

Every time Rudi was off the floor these past two games, Dallas feasted even more on the inside. If you want Dallas to score 100 points inside the paint, I'd take Gobert out. If not, they'll need to start helping off of corner shooters more.

Luka is ridiculously good. He didn’t have a great game but was still the best player out there clearly. Kyrie was huge in the late 3rd/4th quarter after a really quiet first half.

Lost possessions.....if you go back and look at these 2 games they gave both away..and had 15 to 20 bad possessions in both games..a total of 40 terrible possessions in 2 games...most people don't think in these terms..but you can absolutely lose games in 1st / 2nd/ and 3rd quarter...plain and simple you have to be smart..lots of really dumb basketball..bad coaching..Rudy is hurting them..imo he should be benched and Reid and towns play...Rudy can't do anything and is extremely uncomfortable and goofy....it's hard to watch h him..total paper tiger and by no means a real dpoy..
