I think in whole history figo is in top 20 . If consider his position . Because we have a lots of great forwards . But not too much right midfilder like figo.

i Would rate him way higher. Individualistiic he was one of the best.. But football is also a teamsporrt. He was often left on his own. So the opponents could trap him. It would be great if he could had players that supportet him more, with things like double passes The teams would benefit more from him

Luis Figo what a fantastic player he was. He was so intelligent and skillfull that even when he lost his atlethism due to aging he was still a constant threat on the wing. He was stroking the ball with his feet. Great career absolutely world class.

I miss seeing him play. He had an incredible technique with a smooth first touch. Only Zidane had the same type of ball control and technique at that time and seeing them play together in Real with Ronaldo 9 was just an amazing thing. It was like if C Ronaldo and Messi decided to play together.

A truly classic player like whom we don't see in modern Football anymore! Arguably one the best wingers of all time if not the best. He was such a perfect player...dribbling, free kick taking, crossing, play making, and even in defense.

World class winger who could do it all, very hard to be disposed of the ball due to his robust physique and great dribbling skills, Figo wasn’t blessed with extreme pace but the footballing IQ he had allied with great touch,dribbling skills,strong body and vision made it up for the lack of it. In my view at the last 3 years at Barca and the first 2 at Madrid he was one of the best of the world during those periods

I've always loved this amazing player! I even bought a Portugal jersey back in 1997 (the one with green sleeves) because of him - I was visiting Barcelona with my school class and Figo was playing for FC Barcelona at the time.....

I remember Rivaldo's interview for France Football when he explained that his son's fav player was FIGO. Then he received Ballon d'Or... Rivaldo explained that was his fuel to prove his son he was the best. Figo his not my fav but it's indeniable that he was world class EASY ; he reminds me a lot Zico.. i find their dribbling style very similar

Great video, thanks again. One of the best Portugese players of all time. I miss the footballers of the end nineties and begin 2000. Football and footballers in those days seemed more spontaneous and down to earth. I am getting old...

In his Barça days, Figo was very fast, with insane acceleration. Problem is most people only remember him, in his late Real Madrid and Inter days, when he was getting older.

Great player with awesome personality !

It will not be mentioned in the 10 best of all time. But for me he is maybe the best winger of all time. His dribbling style was really unique, he could change direction very quickly and he was very beautiful to watch play. The moves were always perfectly executed and even if he wasn't the fastest, it was impossible to take the ball from him without fouling. He is a player that I come to see regularly on video because there are no two like him in the way he dribbles. He was also very intelligent in his passing. People may not realize it, but in the history of the Spanish championship, it is one of the greatest legends of all time. There is the fact that he wore the jersey of Barca and Real, but also because his level was always excellent, he rarely missed a match.Pure class player 🌟

Nope. Figo and Rui CoSta were class. Deco too. I mean Ronaldo hit his stride after 06. Carvalho was solid. But other teams like Spain, Brazil, France, England had far better players. Figo was unlucky in that sense.

This guy is nuts! He is very creative and also can be clinical. Yes he might not be the paciest winger but he is so skillful and does everything so well wether it's dribbling, shooting, crossing etc. He can also use both feet. Wow! what a player. He is the complete package.

He said in an interview that he prefers to dribble, pass, make assist and cross instead of scoring. Jorge Valdano also said that Figo's passes already included the 60% of a goal.

Not only in Barcelona he signs to his rival. In Sporting Clube de Portugal he sign two times with benfic@. In youth teams but Sporting Clube de Portugal offer better conditions and in first team he sign for Parmalat/Parma that was the sponsor of benfic@ and everybody knows what gone happening then he signs for Juventus. He sign two deals at the same time, then Itália federation forbiden him to play for two years and return to Sporting Clube de Portugal. Always a Judas 😂 but amazing winger. He could be a Judas but the club who pay the salary, he give everything on the pitch

I honestly never get why Barcelona fans hate him. Not as if he left after a year. He was there for 5 years, won many cups. O último ano do Figo e Balakov no Sporting foi pornografico meus amigos, que saudades só de lembrar que um dia vi um meio campo do Sporting Paulo Sousa/Figo/Balakov, que poesia, sei que muitos benfiquistas e portistas se riem porque o Cintra estoirou dinheiro em 2 anos e só venceu uma taça mas não troco os 2 últimos campeonatos do Sporting pelo prazer que era ver esse meio campo em Alvalade, embora o Sousa só tenha estado um ano, nos fatídicos 6:3, maldita Lei Bosman, a malta mais nova em Portugal não tem noção que nessa altura até o Boavista do Manuel José dava tareias em equipas da série A na altura e que os clubes portugueses, principalmente Benfica e Porto batiam-se com quase todas as equipas mais fortes na altura, tirando o Milan da altura onde aí não dava hipótese. Olha quem viu visse, porque ver a bolinha jogada hoje em Portugal é dose, o Sporting então nem se fala.

Sim, verdade. Lembro-me bem do meio-campo do Sporting dessa altura. Era um luxo! Ao Sporting desse tempo, talvez faltasse um pouco de equilíbrio - uma boa defesa ao nível desse meio-campo, e talvez um ataque mais "cínico".

Mas passou se mta coisa (cherbakov, e tb o apito dourado tava no seu expoente.) Nessa epoca so falhei 1 jogo no velho alvalade foi com uniao da madeira k ganhamos 1-0 zero golo do Pacheco onde o Marco Aurelio fez uma exibição tremenda contra nós. Tanto que veio no ano seguinte pra nos. Tinhamos Valckc perfeito mas ao seu lado peixe,carlos jorge lá dps puxou o vujacic melhorou um pouco. Na frente cadete e jusko n eram maus mas tb nao eram extraordinários. Baliza costinha e lema??? Para aquele meio campo de luxo... Dá gosto falar ctg de bola. Abraçao

concordo consigo a 100%, venho ver estes vídeos porque tenho saudades do futebol genial dos anos 90/2000, isto sim era futebol!!! He was Reals Best player in 00/01 and 03/04. But he was not as good overall as he was at Barcelona

Until mid 60s ,When Garrinca accomplished his career It was played 2 3 5 and being goalkeeper was quite a shame .Back than people gave more importance to a feint ,than an good cross or an assist for goal .Garrinca was phenomenal at his time .Many old people consider him at the level of Pele generaly ,As a dribbler he was absolutly better .As for Figo : He is the most completed and ,efficient winger ever .Till today he keeps the record of assists ever .always stable during a match ,a season and whole career .At every team and against all opponents was always the same .I do not know what Garrinca could do against defenders of 90s and 2000s ,Maldini ,Nesta Canavarro ,Stam Ferdinand etc

Não sei se é brasileiro, mas há um esquerdino português fabuloso antes do Figo, Paulo Futre que jogou no Porto e Atlético Madrid, verdadeiro craque, se não soubesse que era português você olhava para ele e parecia aqueles craques do futebol brasileiro dos anos 80/90, uma lástima que aos 27/28 anos os joelhos acabaram com ele, diria mesmo um génio, se tem jogado no Real Madrid da Quinta del Buitre em vez do Atlético Madrid e a seleção portuguesa dessa altura não fosse uma desgraça seria lembrado como um Gullit. O que o Figo dribla em andamento ele fazia em aceleração pura, um verdadeiro jogador de futebol de rua, uma lástima não ter estado no Itália 90 ou nos Estados Unidos em 94, em 86 a seleção era fraca para expressar o talento.

Paulo Futre foi um talento superior a Figo. Teve azar ter acabado no Altetico de Madrid no ano em que foi o melhor jogador do Porto campeao europeu e onde se tornou o jogador mais caro de sempre na altura. As lesoes tambem o impediram de ajudar a geração de Figo e Rui Costa na seleccao. Aos 27 anos Futre estava desgraçado com lesoes nos joelhos quando Figo tinha 20 anos e entrava na equipa nacional. Não termos visto Rui Costa, Figo e Futre juntos foi uma das grandes tragédias do futebol Portugues.

@@scp4849 Pior ainda foi Futre ter tido lesoes graves quando Figo, Rui Costa e Joao Pinto sobem á selecao principal. Existe um jogo contra a Escocia onde Futre ainda joga com Rui Costa (figo no banco) e Portugal aniquilou de tal forma o adversário que ainda hoje os mesmos se recordam desta partida que hoje nos esquecemos. Não termos visto um Futre no auge da idade a ser mentor da geração de Ouro foi uma tragédia esquecida.
