    Kinda yea. But kinda no. Cycles are just soooooo rare. Having a triple with a homer just can’t happen for so many guys. Most triples u need the perfect spot

    The hardest part of the cycle is the triple. The HR is pretty easy if you have the pop, but for triples, you have to hit it at the perfect spot in the gap and pray the outfielder got a bad read or bad throw if you are not that fast. Todays MLB barely prioritizes “speedy” players due to teams falling out of favor with the stolen base so most guys that make rosters are usually players that are either A. Excellent fielders, B. Great hitters, and C. Have good arms.

    cycle is so rare, only 339 people have hit for it, including arraez since 1876, officially over 220,000 games have been played since. Looking at those numbers im not surprised it took that long for the team to get a player to hit for the cycle.

  • @AdamB34

    @AdamB34

    Жыл бұрын

    @@everyday_truth it's not like that at all actually. Mlb players and mlb teams value power and run production over batting average. That's why they care more about launch angle and exit velocity than they do about slapping singles. You want to make $40 million per year in the mlb... you hit .275 with 30 homers and 100 rbi. Hitting .320 with 4 homers and 50 rbi isn't getting you that kind of money. You're either very new to the mlb or you're super old school and you still think batting average is the main thing elite hitters strive for. Either way you're incredibly wrong and ignorant. You can literally hear announcers say what I just said all the time... most guys could hit for a much higher average if they sacrificed power but nobody is going to do that because it diminishes their value to mlb teams. There's a reason why batting average is way down league wide and that's because mlb hitters and mlb teams no longer value batting average because the analytics say it's better to hit .260 with 25 homers and 80 rbi then it is to hit .300 with 15 homers and 60 rbi. Of course if a player can do it all then he's ELITE like Mike Trout or Aaron Judge, or Soto, or Bo Bichette or Vlad Jr etc but most players have to choose between hitting for power or hitting for average and hitting for power carriers significantly more value in the mlb. Again, that's why things like launch angle and exit velocity are so important to hitters in the league today. Far more important than slapping 150 singles just so they can hit .320 lol. Go look at the mvp voting in AL in 2021... 1 player in the top 23 for mvp voting hit .300 or more. Only 6 hit over .290. Now sure, in the NL mvp voting in 2021 there were significantly more guys in the top 20 that hit .300 but they also hit for power with 8 of the 9 guys who hit .300 also hitting at least 24 homers. Again, if you can do both then fine, but most players have to do one or the other and hitting .250 with 30 homers is far more valuable than hitting .330 with 5 homers. You might want to actually understand modern professional hitting before you keep whining about things you truly don't understand.

He just gets on first and only advances if the hitters behind him move him over. You know what ACTUALLY scores runs?? Homers lol! Go look at the real hit king in the majors, Bo Bichette. He has led the league in total hits the last 2 years and is leading again this year but he also scores 100 runs, hits 25+ homers, drives in 90+ rbi and hits 40+ doubles to go along with 15-20 steals.
