    Vickers (GB) actually made a number of Lugers 9 mm for the Dutch Colonial Army (KNIL) in the Dutch East Indies. I think this happened around WW I (!). Because DWM was unable to fulfill the follow-up orders of the pre-1914 production because of the war. These Vickers Lugers are very rare nowadays.

    I bought an Imperial Luger dated 1912, and just now realized that it has regimental markings as well. This is my first Luger so I'm quite inexperienced. According to the markings it was issued to the first infantry regiment machine gun company. It's also one of the earliest P.08 models so it doesn't have the groove on the back of the grip meant for attaching a stock. Any opinions on the value and rarity of this Luger?

    IMO this pistol is the most ergonomic one out there. I'm not a huge fan of the 1911 because it's too bulky. The Luger just fits the hand like a glove and is perfect for one hand shooting. It's also the best looking pistol in my opinion, trailed by the C96.

    The quality of the Fallschirmjager fell markedly towards the end of the war, in common I suppose with the rest of the Werhmacht. They had to take surplus Luftwaffe ground service troops with little training.

    +Der Friese Unlike PP, Makarov has much mechanism. Perhaps the most simplest service pistol i've ever seen. But i admit it has some similarities with the PP

    i was a carrier of the 1911 (a few i built actually) and a big fan of the platform. now im on the glock wagon for various reasons. i wonder if there are any luger fans who actually carry one and try to justify it as a gun that could compete with modern service pistols like those who do with 1911s.

    that would be a hilarious campy sci fi-esq TV episode where the nazis won and everyone has boutique Luger shops instead of 1911s.

    I plan on carrying my Luger my hand naturally falls in line with it and I tend to be a 1 handed shoot regardless, and funny thing is I can shoot it a helluva lot better than my p226 which is why I intend to carry it. Yes it maybe out there but hey I’m a bit of a eccentric person

    Love my 90's Stoeger stainless 9mm reproduction, which is just as unreliable as the actual P-08's. It's true to the bone! :D

    Is it possible to be addicted to Lugers? I started off with P.08's just like most people and then got sucked in... now I'm looking at rare variants of the Swiss 1900 model which start at $4000. I'm afraid I'll eventually end up selling my car to get a $10, 000 Luger. Someone help ;-;

    Don't look to me for help, heading to my FFL this afternoon to pick up a VERY early American Eagle DWM 1900. Low ser # (7***) puts it right after the US Cavalry Trials guns. Has the rare "Type II" safety lever pad (cross hatch pattern), came off the DWM prod line that did the internal Ser#s and Proof stampings.
