Everyone knows that Luffy was pretty much forced into standing up for himself as a Captain against his Crewmate, and its not like any other crewmember was wanting to challenge his Authority, but everyone knows that Luffy is stronger than all of them and had just demonstrated that he'd still use it against his own friends if he needed to. Imagine what that thought would be like for the faint-hearted crewmembers Nami & Chopper, its really heartbreaking to think about Chopper ever having a reason to be scared of Luffy

@@godusopp1797 I don’t think they were afraid. They have nothing to be afraid of. If they had ideals that went against the Captain Luffy would just tell them his order overwrote that. He wouldn’t fight any of them if they disagreed. Usopp challenged Luffy. If usopp just disagreed Luffy would have just done it anyway and he’d have to deal with it. However it was cause he challenged Luffy that Luffy had to fight.

Luffy wanted to ditch it and get a new ship so they can continue but usopp didn't want to do that so this happened. There's about 2 to 3 more minutes to this fight

It's mentioned first in Dressrosa and later on, Zou, but both his slingshot, and later on Nami's upgraded Clima Tact utilize Dials. He just doesn't use them in their intended way because he's not a close-range fighter

To me this symbolizes Ussop as Luffys best friend. Zoro may be his right hand man, but Ussop is who Luffy spends his free time with and most closely relates with. Best friends fight, and best friends forgive, the end of this Arc was absolutely amazing tbh, prob one of the top 2 in one piece.

One of the saddest moments, and both of them were right. The Going Merry was one of their friends, taking them through many journeys. It flew with them, rode through storms with them, and carried them. However, it was broken. Practically speaking, they couldn't sail on a ship that at any point could break apart and sink with 3 Devil Fruit users. How can they achieve their dreams if they can't even sail on a stable ship?

From that point on Luffy invited everyone he saved to be part of his grand fleet. Thats how he accumulated such a large following. He learned something from Ussops ideaology.

Knowing the story forward, This truly hurts even more for three reasons. Luffy Broke a Promise, He made Nami Cry (Not intentionally, but even indirectly he knew the crew were hurting without fighting) He felt everything the same way again when he lost Sabo, Losing another Brother. And Sanji truly understand what ussop feels like when you are to be left behind by people you consider family, even if it was his choice.

This episode specifically had significally better art than the rest since its such a big momment

Ussop truly showed some growth there, he really had luffy on edge during this fight which was hecka impressive.

This fight was truly an eye wakener for Luffy that being captain means you have to make really tough decisions and you carry the biggest burdens of those decisions and how it affect’s those around you.

This is why the straw hats will always be the best group in anime. Naruto and Saskue’s relationship fails in comparison to this. Very deep and emotional.

After the Whole Cake Island Arc, I sometime revisit these moments and think of Sanji's Reactions. At 1:05 I feel like Sanji is thinking about his own childhood and how he was bullied by his older brothers, and he's kinda relieving this moment watching Luffy beat Usopp.

I balled my eyes out watching this for the first time last night. I didnt want their friendship to end like this. Its so heartbreaking. I already know usopp comes back but i didjt know he was leaving for any point in time. It shook me to the core with the build up. Flash backs and just emotions. 11/10 moment

I love this because it shows what Usopp is capable of when he gets serious, even without crazy strength or supernatural powers.

We will never see an arc this well done in any anime ever

@PlayboyObi (episode 236) spoilers for water 7 arc (if you are considering watching/reading it do not read its hits way better that way) Short summary: Luffy tells ussop that their ship is unable to sail much longer because of damages and the have to get a new one. The ship is very dear to the crew but especially ussop, they then fall into an arguement and ussop tells his inner feelings and wants to leave the crew then one thing let's to another. They then fight over the ownership of the ship even though Luffy is miles stronger than ussop

I was actually impressed that usopp could keep up being badly injured and facing luffy

What people often forget about this figth, that Usopp was already seriously injured and he still put up a good fight against a guy who was physically way stronger, posses a devilfruit and was also not injured. Yeah Luffy held back here, but still. Usopp had one of his best fights here and I am sad that he doesn't fight this serious in the current story. I hope we will see this strong willed Usopp again.

Tbh one of the greatest moments in OP history, then we had Zoro giving his speech like a Goat This honestly made me love Zoro more

This was the moment One Piece became the greatest story ever told for me. I loved a lot of what preceded but this was it. And then to go into all the Robin stuff right off of it… the Water7/Enies Lobby Saga is just goated

Damn, this was like watching one of your friends beat the dogshit out of the other over something you'd think you all could talk over....This wasn't really about Usopp beating Luffy, it was about standing by his feelings about the Merry. In that aspect he won, but didn't really gain anything....

@J A fist from a holding back Luffy still breaks the speed of sound, seeing something coming doesn't mean you can avoid it or react to it, if I see someone with a gun and start running away in the end the I couldn't evade the bullet. So Usopp perfectly reacting to Luffy's bazooka is a good feat

Water seven/Enies Lobby is such an intense arc. Usopp and Robin, 2 of 7 crewmembers are leaving, the Flying Lamb is a wreck and more and more problems coming to this situation additionally. The rest of the Crew was so (heart)broken. Zoro and Sanji are so serious, Nami and Chopper couldn’t take it anymore and are crying, you can all of their emotions breaking out💔

At 0:16, playing Gold and Oden in the background is literal perfection
