In 1966 this was the view from my bedroom window. The finest vista in England IMHO.

This castle is really under-rated from all of the castles available in England. It's not just the castle itself; but the surrounding town is lovely and picturesque too. I'd recommend visiting on a Summer's day. People use the centre half tower as a wedding location too.

I could show you drone footage of the castle and old town from last week, sadly cant do 900 years ago ;)
