Best known for her roles in Bohemian Rhapsody, The Ipcress File and The Politician, British film and TV star Lucy Boynton has been professionally acting since the age of just 12 - and along the way has learnt a lot about the art of transformation.
Her concept of beauty, she says in this exclusive video, has hugely been shaped by her work. “It’s given me a healthier relationship with it, because you’re constantly disengaging from any sense of vanity [as] that’s the last priority of my job.” Also, “trying to slip into the identity of someone else has been a great exercise in ascertaining what your idea of beauty actually is,” she adds. “And seeing all these masters at work - all these expert make-up designers and artists and the way make-up can be a really architectural thing and a totally artistic medium has been really fascinating to watch.”

I’ve always liked her in roles that I’ve seen her in, and these ‘in my bag’ videos make me like her more. She has a nice, calming energy about her.
I am also a big fan of her. She is an amazing actress. I never get tired of following her! "Why didn't they ask Evans" Ever since I saw her in this series, I've been going through all the series she's been in. I love you so much Lucy Boynton!
i lover her but saying vanity is the last priority in her job, as an actress, is probably not realistic... i mean how many actors in the industry are not actually drop dead beautiful? Sure, some roles are "not attractive" people but even then, most of the time they are played by beautiful actors

I agree! She clearly is vain and that isn't a negative thing. She uses a cream that is over 150 pounds so she clearly cares allot of her skin

its true even actors who play 'plain janes' or 'unattractive character parts' in real life they actually have quite lovely shaped faces and are better looking than the average john doe maybe screen actors need to have a level of natural harmony and symmetry in their shape of face , which would no doubt leave them with a good amount of vanity

I think its more that the performance matters more than vanity, but maybe she just prefers to not make it all about looks (which, lets be honest, is probably why she gets cast so much).
She's such a queen. I love the hair color so much!
I first became aware of Lucy when she starred in "Sing Street' and have loved her since! I'm looking forward to seeing how her career pans out, shes's truly wonderful!
I’m a fan since finding her in Hugh Laurie’s “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans”. She is an excellent actress and I look forward to seeing her in other endeavours.
