Lucy Boynton: "I was conditioned at school to have male bosses" | GLAMOUR UK

Ойын-сауық

Bohemian Rhapsody star & The Politician's Astrid, Lucy Boynton opens up about how mental health only became a conversation for her in later life, how going to an all-girls school affected her confidence and what rejection has taught her. In the latest episode of GLAMOUR UNFILTERED, Lucy also talks to @JoshSmithHosts about how she was conditioned at school to have "male bosses," and how she hopes Netflix's The Politician will change the conversation around gun control.
GLAMOUR UNFILTERED is your fortnightly chat show, hosted by GLAMOUR'S Josh Smith where celebrities share their journey towards empowerment. Join us on Tuesday 8th October for the next episode with Queer Eye's Antoni Porowski.

"School was never everything to me. And so, I guess that's how I survived it. This isn't the biggest thing in the world. And I can walk away, and feel sane, elsewhere." -Lucy Boynton I love that.. I love that! Although school has always been nice to me, and I've only had good memories (thankfully). But yeah, like Lucy... I liked stepping out of school, like going home, and watching movies that I really like. I always look forward to discovering new stories, and watch how amazing actors are when portraying various roles. I love that. I'm soooo happy to hear Lucy thinks the same way. Awww, she's a cool girl, and quite fascinating!

I’m sorry, but my daughter was a school friend of Lucy’s and certainly this was not the message that she (or her sisters) received from JAGs. She studied engineering and is now a serving army officer. Lucy was and is lovely, but her experience appears not to have been shared by many (possibly most) of her schoolmates.

@@enyab.89 I never said that. For example who looks more "masculine" a strong guy with a beard or a thin guy dressed in pink? Or what a about a brave man and a fearful guy? Doesn't mean that women can't be brave or strong. I like "feminine" girls. It's not that hard to understand. But now with this "equality" thing everybody gets ultra defensive with these terms. It gets a little annoying to tell the truth.

  • @enyab.89

@@trappercooper4033 Trapper Cooper I can understand you, but what you say really is sexist. You obviously think, that the colour "pink" has kind of gender (that's ridiculous) and makes a man less masculine. You support the typical stereotypes of women and men. "Beeing brave and having lots of muscle is masculine" and "beeing classy, beautiful and sensitive" is feminine. That would mean that me, thinking of myself quite brave would be less feminine. Where does that makes sense? All people had to fit these stereotypes, so that they are appropriate, but that's not the case. And is there any advantage of assigning adjectives to a gender? I don't so, it only makes people uncomfortable, who can't find themselves in these exact pictures. Wouldn't it be better just to say, that you like women(or generally people), who are gently and sensitive and classy? Idk, I hope you get, what I mean

Poor likkle Lucy--has to play the victim card to sell more movies. A multimillionaire daughter of multi millionaires, with a life of luxury and privilege. Dont fall for her BS. "Boynton was born in New York City and grew up in London.[3] She is the daughter of British-born Graham Boynton, the group travel editor of the Telegraph Media Group, and Adriaane Pielou, a travel writer. She has an elder sister, Emma Louise Boynton. She attended Blackheath High School, followed by James Allen's Girls' School in Dulwich, south London."
