@@Roller610 If a move sends you into tumble (where you need to tech), you can DI. If the move doesn't and you can act right away, you can't DI. At low percents, nair does send into tumble, but Gyro doesn't, so if you read the DI of the nair, the rest is true until you use another aerial.

As a ROB main in Spain I really appreciate a good ROB "teacher" in KZread. I couldn't find any good channel in spanish and in english you're the only one I know! Thanks to you I could learn and improve my ROB a lot in a little bit of time, keep doing this!

The last combo is literally peak performance... ZZ LIC to Dragdown Upair into Gyro Nair!?!? It's probably the most technical combo i've ever done for ROB

This is INSANE! I can't believe this doesn't have more views. Truly you put your time in and it shows, amazing work. I'm a Diddy main but R.O.B. might have to be my back-up that I lab if Diddy doesn't get a couple buffs again later, as rob is the better overall character IMO

Damn amazing video man, I already feel a huge increase in skill after implementing some little drop combos.

I’m trying to get better with my rob and learn some tech this channel really helps out a lot! I finally learned how to do most of The Robo bunner boost!

Lucretio you're my fucking god, I searched real R.O.B techs or techniques and lessons litteraly everywhere and couldn't find any, or any good one, but this channel is absolutely incredible, I can now train my R.O.B with videos, just like other more popular characters like Wolf or Link having thousands of combo videos and tutorials Thank you so much, your channel is awesome and way too underrated !

Esam just mentioned optimizations for ROB combos in his tier list and so I looked this up. If top players start using these techniques it’ll be crazy. Great video

Some god like combos my dude. I imagine the lagless item catch isn’t patched at all by chance? Seems so OP. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.

Good explanation. It would be great if an expert could explain that bit about why the cstick catch doesn't work if ROB is in front of his opponent. That makes no sense to me!

Slowed it down to 2/3 speed where I can get it 9/10 times. For me, I get air dodges because I was holding forward while attempting to either re-drop or re-catch the gyro. If you guys are having the same issue, it might be worth just slowing the speed down to see what's happening. Once you get the muscle memory down, the basic Nair-ZZ at the beginning of Luc's video is pretty simple. Edit: You can also dash attack into opponent to pick up gyro instead of Nair, and go right into ZZ. I don't know if this is any more or less true, but it may make practicing the first ZZ combo easier.

What button do you mainly use for jump the one above A or next to it?

Im not sure if you will still read this, but at around 5:10 the method has been inconsistent for me, because sometimes when I double jump Z-drop the gyro spawns behind me and I cant catch, But when I short hop its always in front, I was wondering if you ever came across this issue or "glitch" before?

It's not a glitch, ROB twirls in his double jump animation! Just z-drop after the twirl.

Hey luu love your vids! I was wondering how drag down up air specifically works. I tried labbing it and couldn't get my opponent to end behind me consistently so my fsmash or gryro toss or whatever option is backwards. Does it just have to do with canceling after the first two hits?

He has a video about drag down up air, but you have to make sure that you're not hitting your last hit with up air and also know that the drag down up air also brings the opponent towards the direction rob is facing. Also, just another note, probably best to up smash after the drag down since it does more damage and it's quicker (maybe).

@@Grungus37 Ohh okay, let me test during the weekends, but if that's the consistent result you got from the drag down then I think we can conclude that it has to be 2 hit or 4 (unless the fourth is the last hit). But one thing, gyro toss shouldn't be a problem than a fsmash since you can use the c-stick and it will throw at the same timing as you throw forward. Like I said before, upsmash is recommended more since the drag down doesn't have any knock back.

I did some more testing as well and it may be that it always sends in the direction that corresponds to the side of your opponent that you hit with the first hit. If I crossed up say Mario with my first hit it always sent him backwards but if I started the move on his front and crossed up the second hit it still sent him in front not behind

@@Grungus37 okay, I was able to test stuff, and it seems that your opponent will fly the opposite side of the arm on your last hit. For example, if you cross up and hit with your right arm first but hit the 3rd hit with your left arm then your opponent flies to the right side of Rob. Another example, if you drag down up air starting from your right hand and land your last up air hit with your right then your opponent lands to your left.

I don't speak English, so I used a translation website. I can catch the second frame if I don't hit the enemy character, but when I try to practise by hitting the character in training mode, I just can't catch the second frame and drop it. Can I press and hold the A button while holding down the second grab button?

You can press and hold the second grab button, and then press the A button. You do NOT need to hold the A button. When you don't hit the enemy, the catch is easier. When you hit the enemy, the catch will only happen if you are "spaced" correctly. Many years after this video, we now know why the spacing matters and I need to release a new video explaining it!

I would suggest attempting to do this using the A button instead of the c-stick. The c-stick is harder for the same effect, so just use the A button instead of cstick.

I would suggest attempting to do this using the A button instead of the c-stick. The c-stick is harder for the same effect, so just use the A button instead of cstick. And make sure you're holding shield ever so slightly as you're pressing the A button... but don't hold it forever as you'll land and shield. Release shield as you press A.

@@washedsemipro Sorry, I meant hold GRAB (holding GRAB IS holding shield because GRAB is just a macro for SHIELD+A) So in the sequence for ZZLIC, you would input Z Z A (or GRAB GRAB A). When you do the second GRAB (i.e the z-drop), make sure you keep it held slightly just as you press the A button for the LIC.

so i can do zz but when i try to press a to catch the gyro it just nairs an dont catch it so idk what to do

Doesn't work with banana quite as well as it doesn't have much aerial hitstun... ZZ Combos are not great with Diddy

After I do a z drop nair then throw the gyro. For some reason after I throw it and try to catch it with the z button. It still air dodges.

After you throw the gyro forward, you need to ensure you're not holding any directions and press a GRAB button in midair when you're near the gyro. If you airdodge, you might be pressing the GRAB button TOO EARLY or TOO FAR AWAY from the gyro. So either delay the press, or ensure you're close to gyro.

Nope other projectiles and other characters can ZZLIC, most notably Peach and her turnips!

@@testygaming6976 Honestly, I suggest using the A button, not c-stick after Z Z. Z Z A is the best method (just make sure you're slightly holding the second Z just as you press A)

Rob nair have a lot of startup you can shield it pretty easily so you just have to watch out for nair at 0 so if you know the mu these combos are hard to get

@Espur mittens i dont think snake is combo food bro, frame 1 option, since both of them get damaged, the trade is usually worth it because most characters are lighter and he will survive longer (the only way he could possibly be combo food is that he is slightly bigger than alot of characters and he is not a fast faller

Are you finding success on other characters and just not pac? Are you attempting base ZZ combos or are you trying to LIC as well? In the video I was able to perform the complicated ZZ combo into Dair on Jigglypuff, and if it works on her, should be able to simply perform them on Pac. I do believe there are different levels of difficulty on certain characters though! I can hit LIC combos on Wolf the easiest for some weird reason...

@@Luu343 I'm just attempting basic zz combos atm. I started practicing LIC but I can't get it in a combo yet. I can perform zz combos on other characters just fine, but on pac the gyro barely misses every time. Do I have to get more forward momentum before I do the first gyro toss? Because im doing it after a normal landing nair (the hitbox that does about 9%), then shorthop gyro toss forwards (drifting towards them), z catch z drop.

I think you mean your z-catch is turning into airdodge. That is because you're pressing it too early. You need to do it slower.

@@marukuosameru1 yeah it's not easy, I suggest practice it using Byleth CPU in training mode. I also suggest using the A Button instead of c-stick because it's easier imo. Also try doing it with forward facing nairs instead!

It is tricky, and remember it's more spacing dependent, the inputs are not all that fast, actually. ROB needs to be effectively BEHIND the opponent, like in the examples I show! If ROB is in-front, 99.99999999% of the time it wont work.
