The only reason Betty even paused at Kermit was because she knew traditionally that would be a buzz (2 words) and was waiting for the sound...such a pro! Also Estelle was so cute. Still love my Golden Girls! Holy Hell, ""tonight on Matlock...and then on Hillstreet Blues.." Oh how I miss these times!

This is definitely nostalgia overload, from the game show to the actresses to the bulky electronics in the end LOL.

I'll never find it not funny that Estelle Getty was the oldest main character on Golden Girls even though she was younger than Bea Arthur and Betty White.

Each time I've seen Betty White and Lucille Ball together, I've enjoyed it. Clearly, they got a charge out of each other.

Desi Arnaz died on Dec. 2, 1986. Lucy also got the Kennedy Center award that month.

did anyone else catch estelle saying she did it to be fair, to which everyone thanked her sincerely... where did we go so wrong that these type of kind gestures are unheard of anymore

It's said that this was taped on the week of, if not the day of Desi Arnaz' passing of lung cancer. It doesnt come as a shock to Lucy, but Betty White said she was deeply affected and moved yet she smiles and jokes around, putting the audience and the public first before her own personal feelings at the time- a pro and a true legend

People are much more important than animals. Children are much more important than animals. They have no one to help them when in a physically abusive home life growing up as little kids.

I loved how Betty white gave Estelle getty a hint Betty white is a good friend to estelle. Estella never hated her at all only Rue and Bea.

Where is part 3 4 & 5

Betty White just died a week ago on Friday and I always thought shed make it to age 100 but she died very close to age 100 ! Lucy has been gone like going on 33 years

Estelle made a mistake. She used 2 words instead of 1 for the clue. In a normal game that correct answer would have been scored as incorrect. They chose to let the ladies have it since the game was for charity.

The day this was filmed was the day Desi died. So Lucy was mourning while doing this as it had just been hours since she lost her beloved ex-husband who she loved so very much.

It was nice of them to let that go when Estelle said "The frog". Two words are not allowed, but they gave it to them anyway. And blackbirds are NOT an animal. They are a species of birds that are totally different. We don't call a fish an animal do we!!! And the name of the nursery rhyme is Sing a Song of Sixpence.

Oh, I see. There were 5 episodes shot and they aired one a day for a week. This is the second episode I think. The first episode is already on youtube so i didn't upload my copy. I was not able to tape the rest of the week. Hope they turn up one day on KZread. Let me know if you find them!

Anytime I hear this all I picture Agatha Christie's Pocket Full of Rye.

In the last years of the evolutionary American housewife's extinction, watching celebrity game shows while ironing their men's handkerchiefs & boxers midmorning & between getting kids to school & husband to work; laundry done, clothes laid out night prior, lunches packed, & an un-stimulating day ahead. By mid-80's, the division between working vs non-working mothers clearly provided proof re new social structures started in late 60's - 70's. No more midmorning tv distraction - Reagan-nomics demanded duel-income budgets in order to maintain or move into middle-class. The Eighties are where we truly observe the death of the American Dream for those w/out family wealth or potential inheritance.
