Nice, Lucifer Morningstar is one of the best written characters along with Doom, Thanos, Endless etc for me. Mike Carey really made Lucifer who he is, even said by Neil Gaiman. Neil his Sandman is prolly considered to be better by many, but for me Lucifer will stay the better story.

Great series. The front of the dust jacket looks completely unimaginative, but the image on the actual cover looks great! I recently got a copy of The Button deluxe edition with the lenticular acetate cover. I could totally see that Lucifer cover image on an acetate cover. Glossy interior pages? Hmmmm....

Hickman said recently in an interview that he was eyeing Mike Carey to write the Moira series but Carey was occupied with other work :( . Damn shame

Another one for the wishlist think I was eyeing something else and its now out of print. Since I'm getting into Sandman now this will be a nice starting point once I'm done with that run.

Just bought this and hope we get new Vertigo omnibus edition in the future. So many gems!

I just ordered the omnibus on amazon and after watching this video I can't wait for it's delivery on friday. And fun fact I'm a christian so do I care that it's lucifer? No not at all just like you explained it's more described as a sort of mythology and that sorta stuff. I haven't read any lucifer comics tbh so I really am excited to start when it comes this friday. I did start reading constantine hellblazer tho, it really is a shame that there wasn't an omnibus starting with issue #1. But yeah really love your videos dude, greetings from the Netherlands.

Really torn whether to buy this omnibus or TP since many people received the omnibus with tight binding, which doesn't form an "eye". Maybe DC/Vertigo will release Absolute edition in the future with about 700 pages and better binding, like they did with Sandman and Preacher.

Been waiting on this for years. It arrived this week, I'm looking right at it as I type and couldn't be happier. After Sandman and Transmetropolitan, this is my favorite Vertigo title. I won't read it though until volume 2 arrives; how unsatisfying to read half the series and just, stop. Regarding blasphemy,, all Carey does is present a non orthodox interpretation toward the motivations of a certain character. The freedom/predestination contradiction has been the subject of debate for thousands of years, it's a discussion involving differing points of view. However, when the free exchange of ideas which constitute the meat of this discussion becomes forbidden, we have far bigger problems than the status of this wonderful book.

I love and adore sandman omnibus 1,2 yet to get vol 3, should I go ahead and reread sandman season of mists before I read this? I also got this the first day it came out lol

Sweet as that is awesome I am a huge Lucifer fan it’s amazing series and the tv show is also my favourite comic book tv show

I have the five trades that were re-released several years ago but am considering double dipping for this. It looks like the paper is much higher quality.

Thank you for the video Omar. A question: I see that this Omnibus comes with a DC/Vertigo sign on the spine. Given that DC is shutting down Vertigo, does that spell bad news for subsequent volumes of the Omnibus? Or will they just go ahead and slap the DC Black Label sign instead? Or does the shutting down business only apply to new comic book series? I know American Vampire Omnibus has a similar problem.

Characters of Vertigo will be continued, just under a DC label. I mean Endless and such, Lucifer seems to be ending with his current series, Constantine I believe also will continue under the DC label (I mean he practically already does).

This comic is incredible. The show doesn’t do it justice

I honestly was put off of Lucifer because of the show and I didn’t know that this book was made off of the sandman, it’s my favorite series I’ve read outside of marvel and seasons of mist is in my top 3 for arcs so I’m definitely getting this now (or at least some of the book, playing tag with my money and I’m it atm lol)

Almost eerily appropriately so, my copy was bound upside down, so it has to be read upside down and in reverse according to how the covers are oriented 😳

Are you going to review the batman omnibus?

Just to warn potential buyers my copy arrived and the binding is bad. Its glued to the spine so I have massive gutter loss. Really sad about it to be honest.

Vertigo was never really my thing (I’m pretty low brow) but glad this book is out there for people want it.

If you want it for a collection purpose, go for the omnibus. But if you want to actually enjoy the book, go with the individuals as they have a better experience in reading and it will be easier for you to reread. I personally prefer not the volumes, but the reprint which is spread over 5 books.

Some other KZreadr beat you to this overview by a wide margin. Won’t happen with Marvel (only?) books though.

I still haven't immersed myself within the Sandman universe yet. I have all three Omni's still sitting in my wishlist and haven't taken the plunge to move them over to my cart. I picked up the first trade of this series a long time ago and I remember I didn't care for it much, in spite of the fact I love these types of stories that allude to biblical characters or the supernatural. I always thought the series might pick up as it went along so not sure if I'll pick this Omnibus up yet. Will definitely be picking up the Ennis Constantine Omnibus though.

I've been staying away from this because of the tv series, absolutely hated it !! Mostly because I love sandman & Lucifer was written perfectly by Neil Gaiman. I was under the assumption that the books are similar to the tv series. I wanted to ask if I really like sandman & Constantine, should I buy this book ??

I'm not a fan of the TV show or the Preacher TV show, they just didn't get it. Try it out digitally, he's written the way Gaiman wrote him in Sandman, but he does start to change for a reason. Love your user name by the way.

Tom The Fish To be honest though I’ve got about 50 odd Omni’s/hardcovers and this only my second with binding issues. First was the initial printing of Black science and I bought that knowing it had the problem. Anyone know if it’s fixable yourself? Or attempted it.
