It's just a testament tip how good of actors they actually are. From the interviews it appears that they helped each other get into character which makes sense since they played opposite their actual selves

Lucifer is Lucifer just a tad more reserved, he still enjoyed pranking the entire cast. Neither are anywhere near as sensible or serious as Chloe

This could have been a episode where they both exchanged their souls and lucifer is daam happy 😅
