I think the fact that we are so taken by this version of creep is because it’s so fitting to the story line, and we have had 3 seasons of context before the video attaching a LOT of emotion into a small portion of this beautiful song. I love this so much, it’s felt very deeply

There’s so many tiny details too Like the amount of cigarettes increases the sadder he gets.The amount of drinks too The background becomes dimmer and the lights are a darker hue. Just this one scene shows how good Netflix actually is!

The fact that all the transitions suggests he’s sang this song countless times, repeating his thoughts to himself through song. The idea that Chloe doesn’t love his demon side and that he keeps scaring her off. And he plays it almost every night, messing him up more and more.

It is so fascinating that the song Creep was probably written before 1992 yet the lyrics reflect so much to Lucifer's situation towards Chloe. He sees Chloe as angel, floating like a feather in a beautiful world. Lucifer hopes he's special to Chloe. Chloe is so special to him. Clearly, he doesn't belong here on Earth. Then Chloe runaway after learning who is the real Lucifer. It just really fascinates me. It's like written for Lucifer show. I love this song so much

The fact this character is singing this and his voice as well makes this a top moment for me in this show.

I pull this clip up so many times because I think it's one of the most masterfully shot scenes in any show in existence. Tom Ellis performs this song like no other and the pain that you can see in him feels so real as the time lapse progresses through to the present. They knew damn well what they were doing when they cast this man as Lucifer.

The thing about Lucifer’s singing is that he puts all of his emotions into the song and you can hear the sadness in his voice, Tom Ellis IS Lucifer.

@Kingsley96 I think the shorter season also helps a lot! We have less "Filler" episodes and season 4 misses this entire "TV Feeling", if you know what I mean. Less case of the day means more plot developtment in a shorter amount of time and I really like how dense and fast paced (in the best possible way) is! The writers now exactly how much time they need to tell their story. Netflix offered them 1h episodes, but they stuck with about 49 minutes. A Bit more than the TV episodes, but still much shorter than they couldve been. I think it's interesting they don't go Overboard with the nudity and violence they are allowed to show now, because they know what the fans want and if it suddenly turns into The Punisher.... Idk. Maybe we will see much more of the darker Lucifer in Season 5, which will hopefully come! It's common knowledge Netflix tends to end their shows after 3 seasons, so I hope we will get 2 more. But even that seems too short to me! 😩

I have to say, this is my favorite part of Lucifer. Oml. When Tom Ellis sings this with all of his usual emotion and Lucifer’s desperation it is perfect. I don’t usually say this but, it it better than the original. I LOVE when he sings the line “in a beautiful world” with that burst of emotion. Oh, can’t forget the perfectness of the last of the song when he sings “she’s running out again” .. it is BETTER than perfect, no, it is BETTER than HEAVENLY. I love the character Tom Ellis made and how he doesn’t ever stop being the actor we all know and love. ❤

This guy is seriously gifted & severely underrated.. wish to see more powerpack performances from him in future

I'm so glad netflix picked it up. In once scene they showed they can do better than Fox - The back drop throne. The way Lucifers hair gradually gets messier as time lengthens with chloes departure. The way they represent a month so effortlessly through changing environments. Not to mention those camera angles and Tom's magnificent singing. Absolutely marvelous.

I have the same thing with "I'll Try Anything Once" by The Strokes. It's a demo song and finishes with "Alright, one more time."

When you realise he sung this so many times mainly because it relates to his situation within the lyric..

Can we just acknowledge the sheer direction of the writers and producers who shot this scene? The subtle transition from sadness to depression in his voice and on his face is absolutely brilliant.

Tom Ellis is definitely a class of his own.

This is hands down my favorite scene in lucifer, the attention to detail is insane! Like the anger in his voice when he says "i wish i was special" Then when he starts singing "im a creep" it shows him in front of what looks like his throne and the reflection in the piano showing the split between himself He's looking right at the camera the whole time that hes angry and as soon as his clothes and hair start to get messy he stares off into space indicating him losing his sanity and correct me if im wrong but they went through like 10 costume changes without it looking like he moved at all, thats pretty insane

That was an extremely astute observation about the details, especially the throne depiction behind Lucifer. Brilliant! All the more reason why I LOVE this show.

Just now started Lucifer for the first time on Netflix. This scene is what they used to get my attention when I scrolled over shows to watch. Needless to say my own demons and sadness reacted to this beautiful rendition of this song. Looking forward to seeing this show through.

the lyrics are perfect for this season: the way he hates himself bc he thinks he is a monster and he feels he doesn’t belong there, the way he sees chloe as perfect (and she is a miracle), the way chloe was running away from him in the beginning...

I was looking for another song but I accidentally found a gem 🤣

I'm sad we never got a proper duet between lauren and Tom. That could've been awesome. I mean. We got a piano duet, but luci and chloe never got to actually sing together. It doesn't even have to be them together, it could be like greasy spoon where they're not singing together, but they're singing to each other from different places.

Spoilers, but the line 'what the hell am I doing here?' is so much sadder when you think about the ending this season

This scene is foreshadowing. If you pay attention the image behind him is identical to the throne he sits on in hell. He is also wearing the same outfit at the end of the song as he is when he's on the throne.

I watched Tom Ellis' version so often, I forgot how the original went. I just listened to the original and thought; this doesn't even come close as to how good Tom's version is. Tom just puts so much emotion into it, it's unbelievable

He is just FABULOUS

I love the usual Lucifer, but the messy, confused from this season was the best, from performance, emotions and looks Luv it

They should do a full soundtrack with full versions of Tom Ellis singing. Including Maze's wonderwall

He wrote the song ... ;-) ... as all songs with this dark touched success Like ... Sympathy with the Devil, Highway to hell. Etc. The devil never covers others. He is the original. Radiohead, Rolling Stones, ACDC etc. covering the Lord of the underworld.

His own personals hell. He has to play the song over and over again for the rest of eternity. Which is probably why Radiohead refuses to play it in concert.

And when the camera was face on, it was great that they made the beginning scene the end one as well, if you look at the background.

I love that Lucifer looks up to the sky when he sings "what the hell am I doing here" He blames his father and I love the small details of the show.
